So , I want to do something abit... different

I quite like the look of the AI ships

But ,

Who is allowed to RP an AI ? anyone? or special RP only ?

How do I RP an AI Char?

Where Do I fly it? Delta/Kappa/Gamma area ? or anywhere ?

I suppose also, I should ask is this a good idea? or has it been tried by many, and failed by many? I must say I have never seen one actually flying on the server

But ask anyway. Ya never know. And if you cant, then you can have a shipboard AI like COrtana or Serina from Halo.

If ya have seen me RP with em, then yo know how they can be useful. A way to passs time and talk so some sytems isnt dead space.

The two AI ships - the AI drone and AI cruiser - may only be flown with the AI ID. If you are not part of a recognized faction where the AI ID is given out prior to purchasing one of these ships, then the only way to get one on your own is now through a special RP request.

As far as RP'ing as an AI, you can do it one of several ways. You could go with the cold, machine like, AI from the Terminator. Or you could go as an AI that has more human-like responses, such as David from A.I. As an individual, it's up to you. You're an actor - that's what role-playing is all about.

Well, I have a guys named Navy.Drone, and he's... well, it's in the name.
I put out a RP request for an AI ID.
Still waiting on the reply. All you have to do is answer Dusty's questions. It's quite easy actually.

Again, the AI ships are alien vessels.
Not just AI-controlled vessels...

If humans made AI-controlled vessels, they wouldn't make alien ships. (Which would be paradoxical.) They'd wire said AI into a pre-existing human ship.

You are totally right Sprolf.

Just look at all the official player factions and serious groups that are having AI units.

They are all using normal ships with AI stuff fitted inside.
At the exception of some.

So, as an example, the navy would use Navy ships, not AI Drones.

A.A.A.I is an AI ID'd human ship. So don't feel limited. And it took a good 3-4 weeks for my request to be processed, even before the.. er, 'update'.
