OK I get it that some common sense is involved with docking a HUGE captial ship on a tiny little stantion somewhere.

Here's my problem. I wanted to try out the Bounty Hunter Destroyer. Spent hours collecting the cash for it. Go to the only station I'd found that sells it, (Rostock Omege 15). Say to self, "COOOOLLLL". and get stuck in the bay trying to launch. :(

It's one thing to let you dock a ridiculous oversized boat that can't undock. It's quite another to SELL THE BLOODY THING FROM A BASE YOU CAN'T LEAVE FROM! That's just... OK I know this is all voluteer work. But, this is a version of the issue that can be addressed by not making ships purchaseable from bases they can't fly from.

I have tried the F1 trick but all that accomplishes is getting me a game menu to reload my character. That is not helping at all. Holding down the thruster key doesn't do squat either cause the ship is so tightly wedged into the station it aint moving at all.

Do I need to Mod the Mod so the ship will be available someplace that it can actually launch from?

If you get stuck, select the station and hit F3, hopefully you'll be instantly put back in the station. Then relaunch and hopefully you'll be launched from a different docking port. Repeat until free.

that or F1 out and back, that will make you respawn a little further up of the docking spot

With some swearing and rotating use of reverse thrust and cruise you can un-lodge yourself as well, but I think korrd has your best solution.

Yeah, Freelancer wasn't meant to handle players flying huge ships. FL modding can't make new rules, unfortunately, so even well-designed mods like Disco have to settle for a clumsy implementation; weird physics, docking/undocking issues, all of it. Oh well. Admin intervention is the ideal fix, though the others can work too.
