I have to convince my parents to dump McAfee on its ass.

And then of course replace it with something that will allow FL but still protect the comp. This is on Vista so I need some major help.

1(a new FREE security setup as my parents are cheap

2(an irrefutable argument as to why they should switch.

So anyone got any ideas?

Here's a horror story for them-(this is true)

My father's machine had, for the longest time, AOL installed. Now, we all know AOL is evil, and he finally dumped it once I convinced him of said a few months ago. But, before that, our machine was dreadfully slow (it still is, but it's a lot better. Me loves me laptop). We all know that AOL destroys machines, and we found out, that, lo: it was messing with McAffee, and slowing the machine by forty percent. And, upon installation of a better antivirus program, we discovered no less than three Trojans and more little annoying bugs than I care to count. Now AOL and McAffee are gone, and it's a happy computer (though it still shows signs of severe head trauma).

Tell 'em that one.

Of course I can always BS my way further seeing as I am the only one in the house with computer knowledge...

Its a firewall that can stop viruses from getting on your computer in the first place, reducing the need of an anti-virus program.

Heh. I know the feeling of being the only one in the house with comp Knowledge, I had to teach my mom how to attach a file to an email the other day.

Quite sad really.

Verg, I had to teach my mom how to exit something the other day, and to copy and paste.

"Uh.... Whazza that big red "x" in the top of the screen...."

I am a long-absent Supreme Commander, Executive Commander, Grand Admiral, Fleet Admiral, and Captain in the mighty Hellfire Legion. I have returned, and am on an urgent mission from Drake Thastus to return the Legion to its former glory, and to claim the galaxy for its own. Only then will I be able to rest.

RP Story (Still deciding whether or not to finish)
