Has anyone ever tried talking to NPC's? (No, seriously.)

Yes. I admit I do it every now and then. mostly bitching at them for the lack of flight skills, sometimes using the ability to contact them and ask them for their patrol-/trade-route. Oh, and someone once tried to date a NPC, can't remember the name though.
