Niko, it's me, your cousin. There's a contract out on you. You better watch it, Niko, because if they catch you, it'll be millions of credits. But what ever you do, Niko, don't hit the F1 button to escape...
Quote:5.9 Disconnecting from the server in a PvP fight to escape, as well as in any other situation that involves player interaction, is not allowed. If you lose server connection during a player interaction, you should get back in game quickly to continue the interaction, with the other player's permission. If that is not possible, then post on the forums and PM the players involved.
Consequences: Oh, no, Niko - you hit the F1 button....
All your money - which wasn't much - and then your guns and gear to make up the difference on the fine...
If you post in this sanction and are not directly involved or a leader of the accused person's faction be advised that you are consenting to be subjected to the reprisal of my choice which may involve in game repercussions up to a ban.

And I also apologized and waited for an answer in-game like it says in the rule. You can check the chat log for evidence, I didn't make any screens, because I would have never thought that somebody would post a violation notice because of that even after I apologized.
The truth is: This sanction is wrongful and it should be reverted.
I appreciate that wonderful picture you sent me, Niko. But that's like sending me a picture of Little Jacob when you should've sent me a picture of Mikhail Faustin. You managed to hit the wrong man.
Okay, in all seriousness, this is something that happens frequently. You as the player are thinking of one occassion. Unfortunately, the occassion you're thinking of has nothing to do with the person that actually filed the sanction report. In this particular case, you were about 1400K from the person that was closing on you when you 'disconnected'.
The problem that I have with blaming disconnection issues on Vista by itself is quite simple. I play FL in windowed mode on an inexpensive Compaq laptop thats running Vista with a wireless connection. So that's effectively 4 strikes against me being able to play - and I have hundreds of hours in game on that computer. (I've even been in Skype calls with people while playing the game, and running FRAPS at the same time - I get a lousy frame rate but no disconnects.)
While random disconnects do happen, we require you to post each and every single time. Otherwise we'd be in the same position when someone says it wasn't them that cursed in system chat, it was their brother / sister / father / cousin. (And you KNOW we never hear that...)

I can't remember that, really, seriously
but I know I didn't F1 cause I never do, if I would have had something important to do in RL I had just typed // ingame....
It seems Agmen doesn't believe me here, but I don't blame you, it was my fault for not having written that in flood. From now on, I will always write in forums if something like that happens again.
And to you Sebastian Wolfe my deepest apologies for ruining your gameplay.
Eh, it's OK Niko. I just found it suspicious that the green message came up just as I came out of the TL to RP-engage. Even moreso when that merc came out of the tradelane shortly afterwards, saying that he had a personal bounty on you to claim, as well as the Open one on all Cartels.
So, I guess this is a Series of Unfortunate Events, huh?
