Hi there,

My name is Werner aka wernies from the Netherlands. (aged 30, 31 by tomorrow:P) . Upcoming father of my first child...somewhere in November xD

I recently found my copy of Freelancer while tidying the attic and here I am.

In the old days I used to play Privateer, Wing Commander and Starlancer, this genre is truly my favorite. I was also active for a couple of years in an mmo calles Star Wars Galaxies.

2 years ago I allready re-found my copy of Freelancer when I was moving from my appartement to my current house, I didn't had intenet at that time so I just did the singleplayer once more, when they finally hooked me up on the net I went searching if Freelancer is still active and I was surprised to see thata there were dozens of mods.

I choose the Crossfire mod, but was unsatisfied with the poor playerbase active back then. I went searching for something else and eventually dicovered the Discovery mod !

That's when all the problems started... first I was working in my newly bought house wich gave me little time to even install Discovery, and later I spend almost 2 years in and out of the hospital because of a triple Hernia (slipped disc in spinal)

But now finally, here I am... I must say that I'm really impressed by the professionality involved creating this mod.

About myself as I player: I'm the kind of guy that get's along with everybody, it was not uncommon for me to have best friends on the enemies side, like I had on swg, I can say that I was respected just because of my additude, it''s just a game and the goal of that is to have fun aye ?

I do remember my best and worse experience from playing Freelancer multiplayer back in 2003.

-worse: happy to have bought a Sabre and outfitted with crappy guns, I left a planet only to get ripped apart by some dude in a fully armed Titan who just sat at the docking ring waiting for players to come out... this happend like 5 times... still I wont start flaming...tried to talk to the guy what his problem was but seeing the responce I had it must have been a 12 year old ...

-best: outnumberes in my Eagle against 5 foes I was destroyed and spawned at some freeport, with the rest waiting outside, warning me not to come out or I'll be crushed..... after 5 minutes I just shouted in chat something like: the hell with it, I'll come out and take my chances, undocking and immedtiatelly went after one and attacked him, when the rest shouted: stop man, you're free to go...being surprised I had the nerve to come out and fight instead of swearing and cursing them in chat.

Well, I should stop talking, I can be a real blabbermouth on a forum, and my appologies for my English as it is not my mothertongue.

I hope to see you in space !

Cheers, wernies / AbraX

Thanks for the welcomes so far:)

I've been reading the rules about 4 times now, and I will check them when I'm not sure of certain things.

About the loan, I'll just earn credits myself before even thinking of loans, don't want to do that unless I'm certain that I can repay.

Back in 2003 I discovered a lucrative trade route from a hacker or outcast base 1 or 2 jumps away from NY to Manhattan, while still being neutral to LSF and military, but I have no idea how I managed to do that.

Also, I'm not sure what I really want to do, I always had a weaknes for the Outcasts and the Order but I also want to explore other parts.

Is it permitted to have a freelancer account, pirate account and a BH or House Military account on the server ?

Anyway, it's good to see that this game is still active and also that the server is highly populated.

I've made 2 accounts, currently playing with AbraX and I created "wernies" to become an Outcast ( I've read something about a /restart command )

But first I'll play a couple of hours to get familiar again with the game.

Cheers !
