Flashblock and Adblock are wonderful. Those poor misguided IE users. They still have to shoot 20 ducks if they want to open a page.

Even though you seem to have found yourself an answer, I do not think any Firefox user (if that is what you are) should be without the "NoScript" add-on. Takes care of your Flash problem (usually, I never payed attention, was not the reason I got it) and any other concerns. Give it a look at least, if you haven't already.

Well I don't have any technical problem with flash, it's just a damn nuisance. Especially on my laptop, which is an old AMD-450, flash just slows it down to a crawl.

I don't mind flash when its used properly.... like youtube for instance.... but the tawdry, bandwidth-sucking eye candy you see on just about every webpage (except Wikipedia and Discovery), its just horrid. Same goes for freakin banner ads, don't even get me started.......

@Van: Cheers, I'll give it a go.

EDIT: I tried flashblock and adblock.... OMG where have you *been* all my life!!! XD I am *very* happy with those add-ons, I would highly recommend them to anyone. Now my web surfing experience has gone from Ford Pinto to Daimler Rolls (with a chauffeur)
