Mammoth is even better than the armored transport.... quite agile and 2200 hold.

Yeah that's a good transport, but it does cost over 10mil. The AT is a good suggestion if he's impoverished and in a hurry to switch to a transport to beat the next beta version (when ever that might hit).

If you want to stick with a freighter then the best option will be a class 6 shield because class 7 won't mount after the humpback has been fixed. Class 6 freighter shields really aren't too bad on a maneuverable fast freighter.
Morrigan: If you think that the Humpback is a "maneuverable fast freighter," then one of the following is true:
  1. You've been using too much cardamine from your Outcast allies and you've become delusional regarding the Humpback's capabilities;
  2. The Discovery version of the Humpback is much more maneuverable than the vanilla version (I've flown the vanilla version that has the flight capabilities of a brick, but I've never tried the Discovery version).

or
3. i made an assumption that smaller freighters are maneuverable?

Apparently its not? I don't particularly care. My point was that the class 6 shield is sufficient on freighters, although if the Humpback is a brick he'd obviously do better with something else. I wasn't trumpeting the virtues of the Humpback, just the class 6 freighter shield if you happen to be strapped for cash.

Morrigan: I was wondering how you would react.:D

The vanilla Humpback has class 6-7 gun/turret slots and carries 250 cargo space, but most vanilla traders hate it because of its poor maneuverability. Most vanilla traders use the Dromedary due to its 275 cargo space and much greater maneuverability, even though it can only mount class 5-6 guns/turrets (and has one less shield class than the Humpback). A vanilla Dromedary can easily outfight a vanilla Humpback, even though the Humpback has superior weapons and shields.

I'm sure that the Humpback is more maneuverable than most transports (though the Armored Transport is probably an exception). Unless the Humpback's flight characteristics were changed in Discovery, it is probably the least maneuverable freighter.

Armored Transport = 0.833 (525 hold)
Camara = 1.125 (CRAZY!!! Also funny.:P) (340 hold)
Bactrian = 0.9 (280 hold)
Kushan Freighter = 0.91 (360 hold)
Turanic = 0.833 (400 hold)

Thanks. Do you know the turning rate for the Dromedary? If so, has it changed since vanilla?
