well thanks for the nice stories.... I know how to adapt yes.... I personally was never killed by that BS.. but AoM and Lotek were killed by it before they could even get the controls....
Just about every day I pass by that BS and go to planet Leeds... where I kill Bretonian BS patrols without taking hull damage..... and keep thinking about how unbalanced the Derby is.
But ok.. if you say that RH stationary BS are also deadly ... then there is more that is unbalanced: I have been able to pirate traders in my bomber in front of a RH BS NPC patrols, that were shooting one me... ... without taking any significant damage. The traders even stopped and payed me.
So my second sum up:
- Kusari stationary BS are too weak compared to other houses
- all NPC patrol BS are much weaker than the stationary ones

BS patrols are not weak, they are useless.
NPC fighters around them are much better then themselves.

the bretonia gunboat has a huge forward gun, and in my server (not advertising or nothing)
i was in dundee killing some cruiser, gunboat gunboat fighter fighter squads and i have the corsair drednaugh (admin one) and the both shot into my side and made my shield go down alot like 25%
It makes sense to me that stationary battleships being used as defensive cornerstones should have more firepower than the roaming patrols, but not to such a large degree. Since they don't have their engines running or anything.
All power to weapons anyone?
The derby should have the ability to annihilate anything that comes through the Tau-31 > Leeds JG. Especially fighters/bombers before they get their controls back. I mean thats what its there for. I'd expect the same from any other BS guarding a JG in any other system, so make them equal, or atleast equal with respect to each houses strengths.
No need to nerf the Derby tho, that makes my job alot easier.
I like the uber battleships. However, one little-used feature is that you can destroy the turrets individually and render them inert.
The only problem I have with this technique is that they repair ridiculously quickly. On a battleship, by the time you have disabled it's last turret, im sure the first one you knocked out would begin shooting again.
Perhaps it would be a nice subtle change in the next mod, to extend the regen time to 5 mins or so, possibly longer?

The Battleship in NB has a Big Green gas weapon that is deadly it donesnt even need to hit you and it always takes down the TLs when you try to get though
RM BS is pretty much like BAF BS.
BAF BS uses Huge Battlerazor thing, while RM one uses BIG green plasma thing.
With HUGE Aoe.
And that's why Kusari Stationary Battleships suck.
They can't hit anything smaller then a GB, and they have problems with gunships too.
