"A conflict many regarded as a waste of resources, a waste of manpower, and a set back to the real war Bretonia faces on the homefront. The Colonial-Bretonian war, which began two years earlier. A ceasefire agreement was met once but pirates acting in the name of the Queen broke the ceasefire and the Militarizes were mobilized against each other up until the Colonial Republic declared itself a neutral state in a bold move during the high-time of the war.

Since, armed conflict between the two nations dropped dramatically, leaving Armed Forces ships operating in the Tau, free reign to conduct combat operations against the Kusari forces, un-harassed. While the bold move was said to shock many in the Government, other high-ranking officials both in the Armed Forces and Government itself kept to their engagement policy of any Colonial vessel found within the Tau region.

The unofficial cease-fire was acknowledged by many pilots serving both sides and neither side conducted operations against the other. It was months later, that our Kingdom opened official communications to the Colonial Republic offering a proposal to end the war.

Now, after two years of off and on fighting, on November 21st, 818 AS, the Colonial-Bretonian war is over with and trade between the two has officially began.

After the signing, we managed to catch the Prime Minister on the way back to the Whitehall, and asked him for a small public speech regarding the end of the war, this is what he had to say:"

"Citizens of Bretonia and the Colonial Republic, today marks a proud day in the histories of both our great nations. Today, we come together to put an end to years of mistrust and violence on both sides. With the signing of this treaty, we lay the building blocks of a peaceful, secure future where the Colonial Republic and Bretonia stand side by side in a new friendship, rather than spiteful hate. I had a chance to meet, and shake hands with the Colonial President, Marcus Kane, and seeing this side of the Colonials has amazed me, and I can tell that President Marcus Kane will uphold his signature to this treaty. I would also like to mention that all pilots captured during the war will be returning home immediately after the Intelligence Services has finished debriefing them. That is all, thank you."

"A few people celebrated in the streets at the official announcement of the Colonial-Bretonian war being over with, however, war still looms in the North with the Kusari invasion still underway. Now our forces can focus more resources on the war that's displacing many lives.

With that, I bid you farewell, and if you are out celebrating tonight, to drive home safely. This has been Tonya Willows reporting. Good night."
