Hmm, it has been a while since I went through SP, but that very early mission with Ashcroft does overturn my idea of spending a long time in a jump hole....ah well, it was an interesting thought I suppose. I will have to assume that there is almost no lag time between entering and exiting because of the way the mission worked....

and yes jump holes are supposed to be scary, but there is no sense in doing anything to make them actually dangerous other than add more lore about them.
