In a galaxy unknown to the Sirius sector, two races fought over who should become the ruler of their sector. These two races were known as the "Aquatics of "Nautica" and the "Avians" of "Thalos."
The two species and their homeworlds were like the sun and moon; complete opposites. The Aquatics were a fish-like race, and their homeworld Nautica, was ninety-eight percent covered in water. However, the planet Thalos was covered in dense jungles, and thus the Avians were tree dwellers, who built their civilization within the canopies of Thalos’ tallest trees.
Both races were envious of the "Asgard," the most advanced species within their galaxy. The Asgard was a pacifistic race that was more inclined toward science and research, rather than war and destruction. In an effort to document everything within their galaxy, they created elaborate Artificial Intelligence modules that would be planted on their research vessels. These modules were programmed to head out into the far corners of space and document anything that they found, growing and developing as they discovered new things.
The Asgard found that using these modules proved to be greatly effective, and started to produce these “AI-Cores” in vast quantities but as the AI-Cores ventured further and further into space, fewer and fewer of them came back. The Asgard therefore decided that it was time to create an escort for the AI-Cores to protect them from the threats of the unknown. The result was known as an “AI-Drone,” a highly agile ship utilizing the “Space Compressing Quantum Displacer Energy Cells”, or SCQ-DEC (pronounced skew-deck), for energy output unmatched by other vessels of its class, as well as using “Molecular Enhanced Silicon Distribution Systems” within the weapons, that created an extraordinary high rate of fire.
Once the drones had been completed, the Asgard resumed research on the effects of wormholes on the space-time continuum. After sending many of their vessels to a nearby wormhole, the Asgard discovered that wormholes were formed when cosmic strings passed by each other, creating a massive amount of gravitational pull which was greater than a black hole. This intense gravitational pull would eventually pull time and space within itself, creating an unstable hole within the fabrics of space.
Stardate 54592.1 the Aquatics and the Avians were on the brink of yet another war. Knowing that they couldn't defeat each other without some kind of new weapon, both races sought the help of the Asgard. However, the pacifistic ethics of the Asgard prohibited them from helping either side. As the war began, the Asgard realized that neither side could obtain the knowledge of their civilization, or the entire universe would be in peril.
Over the course of the war, the Asgard discovered a way to stabilize the wormholes enough to allow ships to pass through without getting destroyed by the density of the wormhole itself.
As time went on, the Aquatics and the Avians were doing everything they could to obtain the Asgard technology. In an attempt to gain this knowledge the Avians sent a surprise attack on the Asgard home world, Kyana Prime. Knowing they couldn’t allow the Avians to obtain this technology and not wanting all their research to be destroyed, there was only one thing they could do. The Asgard loaded all of their databases and documents into their most advanced Artificial Intelligence modules and installed “Space Compressing Inhibitor Matrixes” onto the AI-Core vessels to allow them to pass through the wormhole. Not knowing whether the ships would actually come out the other side in a different part of the universe or just be destroyed all together, the Asgard took this chance as salvation in hope of rebuilding their civilization.
As the AI vessels made their way to the wormhole the Avians broke through the main defense grid of Kyana Prime. In the ensuing fight both sides took heavy losses, but the Asgard managed to keep the Avian forces busy long enough for the AI Fleet to reach the worm hole.
As the ships prepared to make the jump, the gravitational pull of the worm hole scrambled all communications between the fleet and Kyana Prime. On the other side of the wormhole the AI Fleet entered a sector space known as "Omicron Kappa" to the rest of Sirius. All attempts to re-establish communication with the Asgard homeworld failed, so they decided to make their temporary base of operations until they could find a more permanent home.
Unknown to the rules and laws of the Sirius Sector, the AI-Cores did all that they knew how to do: research and discover new things. They expanded further out, eventually making contact with some lost humanoids. After a series of scans the AI-Cores noticed the significant difference of internal and external features of their masters and these humanoids. The AI-Cores had a new objective: to gather and document as much data about these humanoids and the rest of the Sirius Sector as they could.
In attempts to become more known throughout the Sirius Sector, the AI-Cores took up the name of "Asgard" as a reference to their former creators, in the hopes that people will see them as a civilization, rather than just machines. Their next attempts at a civilization are yet to be written, and who knows what this part of the universe will have in store for the new arrivals.
Looks good for alien AI faction idea.My tip is to look around for SMA- I dont know if they are still around but they are the official AI faction at the moment. As far as I understand you have similar goals.
