Yes we are, but there are plenty of Siriuns (Siriusians? Siriusites?) that are. The ground based soldiers would have no real In-game representation (except, perhaps, as a commodity) and would instead serve only to tell stories about ground based Bretonian combat. I know the idea is a bit weird, but it would make some great RP and offer an ability to expand the Discovery universe, which I would like.

Let it burn.

I've been thinking about it all morning and I have a possible development that -more- of you will fancy. The basic details are:
  • With Dieter's permission, I could possibly start a sub-section of the BAF| known as "The Territorials" or, more formally "The Territorial Army". I think I could run this sub-section as a sort of 'low grade BAF' where it would bring in players who need training/help to get to a level of understanding and ability before joining the real faction. Some advantages to this for the BAF| would be they wouldn't have to decline those who normally would fail recruitment or bring on board straight away those who they are warey about, instead they could send them to the Territorial Army (BAF|Full.Name[TA]) and let them spend a couple of weeks or maybe even a few days just getting more knowledgeable about RP and the BAF| way of life. Then, if in the [TA] they screw up and get sanctioned the BAF| image won't be tarnished because they could just point out they are the the TA and not -really- members, just possible members in waiting therefore they shouldn't be judged for their actions.

With this, it could also possibly service as a HMS gathering, so independent HMS players could come under the TA banner, maybe get training and share ideas and experiences, this would overall increase Bretonian lawful independent quality. So that I would be happy with the possible change in direction, I would maybe have 1-2 of the already stated regiments in the TA and since there are more independents that officials, it should fill quiet nicely. Another advantage would be it would create a bridge going from Independents to Officials and allow quick and easy 'Orders' to be sent down the line. I'd also make the TA, like I said in the OP, strict military RP.

It may also serve as a part of the BAF were those who do not like the idea of message dumps and promotion but still want to fly under the quality of the BAF|, they could be in the TA as sort of 'less-serious-players'.
Thoughts?

The Territorial army idea is great. Not only would it make the BAF have more well trained people, it would also allow people to try out the BAF and see if it is something that they really want to do. Please make this, it would be awesome!

Let it burn.

No indie HMS under BAF| tag please. I fear to imagine if they (inexperienced a.k.a lolwhuts) would get right to shoot transports.

Also. If they have a BAF| they are in that faction and they would be counted as member. It wouldn't be possible to slip through with "don't judge BAF| as we are [TA]"

Other than that, sounds interesting and worth doing.

Good shout on the inexperienced caps, We could have for snubs/Gbs -> BAF|Full.Name/Title[TA] and for Destroyers and battleships, HMS-Title[TA].

Also, I think people would be A LOT more understanding to the real BAF| if a [TA] tagged made a mistake, since everyone would know they actually aren't the BAF| players and elite who pass normal guidelines, but instead just trials/possible BAF characters.
