I think we have a similar view then. Skill/Numbers/OP'd-ness.

I think those few TRULY overpowered ships out there are far and few between, and simply present a good challenge to others. Making the game more fun.

Fighting a lag Sabre however isn't fun, for me atleast.

Well, if there's one thing that this thread proves, it's that people who have an unfair advantage over others by virtue of having better equipment handed to them don't want to lose that advantage and have to find out if they're actually good at PvP.
