Thanks zapp for the clarification. I'll think about when the time comes. I need to see if I "hit on" with any of the factions while in server during my rather sparse game time. And see how the RP is at places. I'll still have a long way to climb but now I'm sitting at Defender which is not that good anyway.

I'm leaning towards lawful side though, but if I happen to choose a renegade then one thing is pretty sure by reading forums. It ain't the Corsairs since everybody loves Corsairs like their favorite cousin and it seems that they have overflow in their rosters as it is.

I always liked Rheinland space and was thinking about going RM, but the rap is that they are pretty overpowered as a faction. So Red Hessians might be getting a cannon fodder ensign. But to really consider that I need to get my pvp skills up to date to stand a chance.

To tell you the truth I have no idea about the power balance in place so this is just hearsay. I surely have to take a serious look what seems to be fun.

Oh, and since Xoria seems to put such value to having a good background story in place I'm working on one.

I hope the rest of sector is not so full of bozos like the NY seems to be. Very erratic behaviour from some players with "intelligent" remarks who wants Cardamine. It seems that flying fraps on is a splendid idea.

I made an character to name looqas. What are my options changing it to some tag|name when the time comes?

Or do I need to start over making a char just for some direction in mind? This would be a bit problematic since I don't know the way I'm taking yet.

You'd have to get a Name Change Certificate (NCC) which are one the 6 major planets (Manhattan, New London, New Berlin, New Tokyo, Malta, and Crete) and post in the name change thread... in the Announcement section of the forums, the one above this one.

I had a very good taste about RP in action in this server last night. I was following the proceedings in Magellan while couple of LH train robbers where in action. Mind that I was observing only with level 14 status. What was nice that they still gave me the "Keep walking. Nothing to see here. Ain't your business pal" -act to a underlevel player like me. Thanks to LH to livening things up.

So what's the quickest way to see someones level (I only found the chat window sort by system)? Any quicker than that?

And should I take my time to reports some guys with screenies to back up some quite unusual equipment/ship/tag choices of level 39 guy? Normally I wouldn't bother but the guy was wrecking a lot of peoples fun above Manhattan by firing/ramming/harassing people even after LSF tried to calm him down. The chat this guy was making wasn't by the book either. After all this perp was "police" tagged and probably not his first time doing stuff like that.

Ok, to RP issues. What you make of bribing the player police after they have nailed me with contraband? There are crooked ones in the real world, so in that sense it would be ok. I've been thinking that by it's nature such transaction needs to be secret. But if you do a such thing in private chat that leaves the public out of the benefit of some amusing RP. On the other hand if you do it in public then everybody knows that you are a dirty cop! And it surely will be seen by some as piracy/taxing.

It's a very thin line to walk on. The best approach I can think of is that only good RPers should even attempt anything like this with private chat taking screenies for your sake. Also it opens up intriguing possibilities of owning a cop in a precint who could possibly inform if the coast is clear to make the run for it. Or even lure the police away. Clandestine meetings at remote corners to pay the bribes :)

It's not the greed of money but the unique RP experience. This kind of valid RP would very hard to pull off without it being blatant rule breaking. And I'm sure getting caught will result in fired out of the squad in disgrace.

I did not mean my level, but the level of a player I'm targetting. Any faster way to see if the guy I'm targetting is level x than going to chat windows and see it myself from the list?
