"Name and rank."

"Meisal, Wilhem. Kapitan."

"What makes you think you're suited for this kind of mission, Kapitan? You've captained the Volkingen for a few years now on and off action. Your name came up highly recommended for this job. This could be a suicide mission, herr Kapitan."

"Das fatherland asks but one thing from its citizens. To, when the country needs its young soldiers, fight."

"Your transfer has been accepted, herr Kapitan. Congratulations... you will need it."

.....Years earlier, frontline. Hamburg. Volkingen.

"Meisal. Turn power off to shields and weapons, hide us in the scrapfield. There's a rather large old wreck in front of us. Maneuver us to float."

"Aye, sir. Systems quiet."

Situation: Libertonian fleet has just jumped into the Hamburg system, full force. Battle grouping numbers surprised even the statisticians of the BDM. No one could have seen this massive fleet coming. It's almost as if they came out of nowhere, our intelligence assets were caught off guard in Hamburg. Fleet resources were not allocated well enough in the system.

"Sir, fleet is attempting to contact us. They have no idea where the hell we are."

"Gut. Keep an eye on those Siege Cruisers. We can't let them get too close to the rest of the fleet. Stay behind the scrap until I give the signal. If our own sensors can't pick us up, that means the Libertonians can't either."

As the Volkingen prepared itself within the scrapfields near the jumphole to the Bering system. The Liberty forces began massing near the Jumpgate, sending scouting vessels out in every direction. Including a gunboat, the Victory's Hand, ironically named for the purpose it was about to serve.

"This is the Victory's Hand we are leaving short range communication range of the fleet and heading into the scrapfield, over. We'll keep you updated."

Kapitan Nikolaus Schlodien was a man of few words, but one of many talents. One unique talent, that then Major Volkingen would pick up was the aptitude for capital vessel combat in space. Coming out of nowhere is something Schlodien had a habit of doing. One day it would cost him something very dear, but for now, he was at the peak of his military career.

"Steady boys, steady. Gunners don't get anxious your weapons aren't even powered online yet. Continue tracking with eyes only. Steady."

Victory's Hand didn't anticipate what would happen next. It's captain would go down in the history books as the first of the Liberty gunboat class vessels to go 'Missing in Action' during the course of the war.
