To put it simple: Only Malta and soledad can grow cardi ore, why cause the allknowingaliengods that made the nomads engineerd the planets like that.
Now you have people (which names i wont give) who think powergaming is cool and okay as long as they THEMSELVES can get profit off it, hence why the "gc can grow cardi too thing"
To be blunt: no malta/soledad= no growing cardi, anyone claiming to be as mighty as the race that made the nomads = powertrippers
A Psalm out of the outcast history books.
The dons are our shepherds; I shall not want. They make us live with a cause; They lead us trough the still vasts of space. They restore our souls; They lead us in the paths of righteousness For The Orange Dream. Yai, though we fly through the valley of the shadow of death, we will fear no evil; For the Spirits are with us; Your leadership and Your cardamine, they comfort us. You prepare a safe home for us in the presence of our enemies; Surely goodness and mercy shall follow us All the days of our life; And we will dwell in the house of the outcasts Forever
The history of cardamine has been altered by three sources. The chief guardian of vanilla lore is Igiss, for whom the title of apathetic is as appropriate as it is wide ranging. The second would be the RoS guard system, which introduced Soledad as a lore twisting mechanism to enable their access to a resource which their actions may otherwise have cut off, given that their actions eventually led to that secondary resource being lost to them I've little doubt that a third will emerge in due time.
Lastly was Kuraine, a gentleman whom few will argue (and none successfully) did any great service for the server when he was allowed free reign to tickle the underbelly of reality with the gawdy feather of self indulgence whilst re-writing the fortunes of the GC to serve his greater ambitions. The result of those aims are, of course, found in the shape of Kitihara and similar bits of tawdry nonsense. Brazen as a whore's wink that guard system is.
As Klaw pointed out the rules governing cardamine are simple as a plot device: It only flourishes on the world which was built from the ground up to host it: Malta. This was done to ensure that the mutated humans the weed produced were tethered to one spot; though additionally to further the underlying foundation that the majority of the Sirius sector was a training ground for the fledgling Nomads.
Malta = Cardamine.
Anywhere else, be it some biodome or your frikin pantry =/= Cardamine.
Cryer has spent years and billions attempting their hand at its production. Thus far their efforts have been less than successful. Consider the weed to be the biological equivalent of quantum materials. It's special and beyond our ken. Other, non Malta, sources are to be treated with the disdain and high nosed snobbery their existence demands.
You say that the Daam K'vosh (or however you spell it) created Malta from the ground up specifically to grow Cardamine. Could not humanity also build a Biodome from the ground up with the specific task of replicating the conditions on Malta? I mean sure we are human, so there would probably be a loss in quality etc, but this could easily be RPed around.
And I didn't think Cryer were trying to synthesize Cardamine, but a substitute that addicts could use to wean them off? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Correct.

No.

No.

They were trying to synthesize Cardamine for purposes of deriving its life giving qualities. So, yes, they are trying to synthesize Cardamine. Actually, as of game release, they were simply trying to appropriate a viable quantity of it. This was prior to everyone and their mother having a pocketfull of the crop's seed and germ, apparently.
Doubtless some will argue my position. But I feel it's best for both the sake of continuity as well as narrative integrity.
Ok, so Cryer were trying to (originally) synthesize Cardy, before trying to combine it with alien Organisms to make their long life drug. Yet they were bound to be unsuccessful, because to be able to successfully replicate the drug a precise knowledge of the growing conditions on Malta would be required, which could only be gained by sending out a scientific survey team, which the Outcasts could hardly allow. Yet it would be entirely possible for them to carry out the research and attempt to recreate those conditions.
If I remember correctly, the golden chrysanthemum guard system also had a planet where cardamine was made to successfully grow. Blood dragons left the planet afterwards to prevent becoming addicted.

[color=#FFFFFF]They have but it's of terrible quallity and slowly killing the eco system of the planet
I don't think it's impossible for cardamine to be grown elsewhere, but it would probably be very unlikely that a suitable place can be found for the growth of cardamine. Planet Malta has a unique ecosystem designed for the growth of cardamine. Growing cardamine anywhere else will lead to either very bad quality cardamine or lack of cardamine growth. Planet Soledad can only grow cardamine because its ecosystem was tweaked by the nearby nebula particles to become exactly like Planet Malta's ecosystem. Planet Kitahara grows cardamine, but it's very bad quality because the planet's ecosystem, while similar, is not exactly like Planet Malta's ecosystem. As for Cryer, I don't think they have to grow cardamine, but just replicate it instead. I think they could theoretically replicate it, but they just don't have enough of the original sample to do so yet.
