Mod won't activate

Recently I've been asked to beta test a mod, which I couldn't use because FL would crash before the menu, when I've tried to re-activate discovery, it won't do it. Gets about halfway through reactivating then comes up with this:

Error: FLMM has determined that 'Discovery mod v4.84' won't properly activate.

This was only a test run, so no files were changed (besides being uncompressed).
Look in the log for more details.

I have tried deleting all autosaves, deleting all saves, restored backups, deleting all the mods I have downloaded and still it won't activate. After all the above I checked the activate/deactivate log and found:
data\characters\costumes.ini' doesn't exist
so I deleted discovery and redownloaded it, and attempted to reactivate. In vain. It still won't activate and I've even uninstalled/reinstalled FLMM twice!! Please help!

not sure what to tell you...I haver had the same prob before, and usually ended up reinstalling everything,after getting NEW downloads of stuff...sometimes the zip gets corrupted after the first time unzipping( at least thats what i like to think to explain it). Then everything usually works fine.Usually.

:angry:Nooooo!! *sobs* I don't have a disk! The last time I had to re-install it included downloading file-by-file over Xfire! My connection is 55kb/s so do you know how long that took! aaaargh...

I know a link (torrent) where you could download to get FL, Maybe you should ask a friend to download it for you and burn it on a CD. The game is only 700Mb aprox.

Jammi, I'd send you my DiscoFreelancer folder, but its 1.28 gig...When you get freelancer again and its cracked..

MAKE A DAMN COPY! I keep four different copies of Freelancer...

One: On this computer, one on the lounge room computer, one on each server.
