Thanks, All, for excellent welcomes. I have been reading and re-reading the rules and Xoria's excellent posts for about a week now. Very good stuff. I try to get a feel for something like this before I join. Again, I'm impressed.

Has anyone thought about doing some sort of a PDF or something else for downloading with the rules, Xoria's insights, other practical "getting started" info (perhaps different sets of suggestions for different types of characters)? Sometimes for newbies like myself, it's hard to find everything useful on the forums (and to find it again when you want to go back), and even then, it's can be difficult to compile everything. I realize Xoria has linked the essentials, but to have everything in one document would be quite helpful. Part of the daunting nature of something like this is asking "What all do I need to understand before I can participate responsibly?"

I think that actually is a very good idea.

If we could manage to do a checklist with everything a new member needs to know, I'd volunteer for doing the layout, pepping it up with some pictures and making it a .pdf.
