Quote:[font=Agency FB]The Office of Naval Intelligence, or ONI for short, is a branch of the Royal Navy of the house of Gallia. When the Gallia sleeper ship arrived at Ile-de-France in 84 A.S, the Gallic Royal Navy began to conduct reconnaissance of their new home. When space travel began to become more accessible to civilians, the Royal Navy switched to internal security. The Office of Naval Intelligence was a small and a relatively unknown branch of the Gallic Military, but managed all information gathering and military operations and mission coordination for the fleets and planetside forces. The first ONI base was in Tribune City named Installation Alpha. What started off as a smart building with offices and cabinets to store files quickly turned into fortress that was impenetrable to any civilians or ground hostiles. The darkest and deepest secrets of the military, from operations and plans to facility infra-structure, locations and purposes were all stored in Installation-Alpha and are still to date.
In late 700 A.S the ONI constructed Foxtrot base. Located away from prying eyes, the ground, air, and water space are all restricted; Nothing, not even police, gets close. They used the vast base to build a major component of the Gallic Military; the ground forces. From battle tanks and armored personal carriers for the army toaviation transports and combat planes for the air force to large container transports and fuel for the navy, Foxtrot was one of many bases that helped run the Gallic war machine. Many more ONI owned and operated bases exist and are scattered throughout Crown territory. It is rumored ONI has a remote and hidden base that can prepare and launch enormous anti-capital ship missiles from ground-situated silos. However some feel it is mere propaganda that was released by the Navy but others think differently. The branch is currently trying to establish more bases in Gallic territory for all kinds of reasons from defensive, offensive, training and support objectives.
At the moment the ONI is supporting the Royal Navy's fleets directly and indirectly. The branch has multiple combat wings and support vessels that fly alongside the Navy and also fly ahead of the fleets to gain direct-intelligence of hostile positions and equipment. The RNS Prowler is a Valor class ship that has been retrofitted to be a front line command vessel for the ONI in the Tau sector for when the invasion of Sirus gets underway. The branch also has agents who go undercover in all kinds of environments to gain further intelligence that the military could later exploit. They are the royal families eyes, ears and dagger. They are the Military's knowledge and planner.
In the later part of 819 AS, the Directeur of ONI, codenamed Alpha, and a majority of the ONI Section III branch went missing in Action, along with the RNS Prowler. Without the leadership, the Office of Naval Intelligence halted all operations until a mostly-unknown figure, Adelaide Zelda, Code-named Wandering Cry, took over as Directeur, appointed the woman called Control to her Assistant Directeur. With the young captaine Lelouch D'Aramis as the new Tau Operation Coordinator, and wth a small batch of new recruits, the Office of Naval Intelligence was given a new Valor, the Point of No Return, as well as smaller corvettes such as the Gawain. All retrofitted for ONI operations, the Office of Naval Intelligence continues to do thier job: The gathering of intel that can lead to Gallic Victories within the Tau Sector.
