Here and now, stay here and now.

All through out his childhood he knew how important service was.
From the time his memories began, his father would tell him great stories about his exploits, working for Kusari to make a new world free from the problems of the past.
He would sit and listen for hours about how his dad had infiltrated the Blood Dragons to bring about the end of a warlord that wanted to see Kusari burn for no other reason then one of his ancestors, twenty generations ago had been deposed by the people.
He memorised every sentence that came from his fathers mouth.

The stories always made his dad seem larger than life, but everyone knew that he was.
His father had been known as one of the greatest agents the Kempeitai had ever had.
He was a veteran of countless missions against the enemies of Kusari.
Throughout his life he knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that he was going to follow his fathers footsteps.
To protect those weaker than yourself, that was the noblest of calling, one he was only to happy to follow.

Mother would always worry when he was gone, always afraid he would not come home.
Her son would hold her and remind her of all the families whose fathers did come home because of him.
Deep down in his heart he knew that one day his father would not return, but such is the life of service.

When he lost his father to a botched operation in the Tau systems, he knew that he had died doing what was right, as he always wanted.
He signed up strait away for service, to continue the legacy, one that deserved to be continued.

He came to, resting on a table, how did he get here.
For a moment he was at peace, but that all changed in a second as excruciating pain shot through his head, it felt like his synapses were exploding one by one.
It started happening again, his memories were flashing through his mind at such a speed he could barely keep up, why was this happening.
He was losing control, he could feel someone else was looking through his memories.
Must fight it, turn back to your training.

Here and now, stay here and now.

The academy was just as one would expect, the students had classes that were similar for all students while extra courses were offered for those with additional skill sets.
It turned out he had a high adaptability to small unit tactics, deep cover insertion and leadership ability, just like his father.
Although he was no more gifted than some of the other students, his determination to make his father proud pushed him always onwards.
He gave up all notions of free time and buried himself in his studies.

It took four years before he graduated from the academy, top of his year level.
With his marks he did not find it too difficult to get the assignment of his choice, Kusari office, internal security.

For many years he worked in various operations.
Time and again he was rested by both loyalty and morality, the worst was when innocent people had to be sacrificed for his mission to be completed.
Getting him through all these trials was the one overriding thought, the people of Kusari must be protected.
If they were never to learn of the true horrors plaguing their homeland, then he had done his job.
