Red Tails is a war movie, which tells us about Negro Pilots of the World War 2 era. The movie depicts their bravery and determination to fight off the enemy. The movie is trying to play the old race card, white commanders pushing down on Negros, saying that their eye sight and reaction time is not sufficient to be good pilots. At some point of the movie, the Red Tails get an escort mission, where they prove their worth and earn the respect from the white bomber pilots.
The movie has a very thin and simple love line, which is just a bluh.
Over all the movie is somewhat similar to Red Baron, Top Gun and similar movies, which show aerial fighting. The movie itself is very simple, there is no real story or any emotional plot, just some black dudes flying, shooting Nazi planes and struggling to earn respect.
I can not say anything bad about the movie nor good. The flick is somewhat dull. At the end of it I was like: " Ok, now what? " If I were to go out and pay real money to watch the flick, I would've been a tad disappointed. My score would be a firm 2.5/5 ( right in the middle).
