Lucius grabbed a flashbang and while William opened the door he threw it in. When the flashbang exploded it became clear it was a good throw, all three of the men grabbed their heads trying to focus and see where it came from.
However, it was already too late. When the flashbang went off William stormed in, taking down two of the guards in an instant with his rifle set to burst fire. The third one was for Lucius which he knocked unconscious, just for fun.
Lucius :Al right, let's get the package and be gone from this place!
Withdrawing his datapad, he moved to a nearby computer terminal.
Keying in a series of commands, he quickly had control over the mainframe. "Amateurs..." he muttered, ignoring everything.
Minutes later he found what he was looking for and began downloading it.
"I've got what we came for, but there was something else, a location of an arms supplier for these thugs" he said, "could be useful."
Five minutes passed and William withdrew his datapad, now carrying the schematics they came for within it.
Just as he placed it back into his armor, an alarm Klaxon began to sound, looking up, his eyes met the face of his comrade who scowled at him.
William returned the scowl with a shrug and bent over to check the computer system.
"It wasn't us, the LSF is executing a raid on this facility as we speak" he remarked grimly.
Collecting himself, William reached into an armor compartment and produced a magazine of AP rounds, loading it into his lancer. "Time to go lethal, we're going to have to fight our way out" he said coldly.
Reaching into another compartment, William retrieved a small EMP generator, hooking it into the computer core, he glanced at his teammate "Here's where things get interesting" he said, amusement lacing his voice.
Moments later, William triggered the blast, knocking out the building's power grid.
Moving to the door to exit William whispered into their comm "No witnesses."
As the alarms went off an old feeling of Lucius kicked in, anxiety. He loaded his rifle with Shredder rounds and turned it on semi-auto, for increased accuracy. He kept the safety off and checked his grenades and flashbangs while William armed the EMP device.
After the blast Lucius walked out the door with a smile on his face and his gun in his hands, following William and covering their rear. While he acknowledged they walked down the stairs when three huge blasts could be heard, quite close to their position.
Lucius :That's definitely an LSF raid, you can hear them screaming "Go" and "Clear" all the time. They usually operate in four man teams, easy pickings for shooters like us. We should knock one unconscious to find out what they were looking for.
With two fingers he pointed forward, signaling William they had to advance to remain undetected and to kick some behinds.
Nodding in recognition, William hit his comm bead. "Skyhawk, this is Mercury, move into orbit over our location, prepare to execute LIGHTNING Contingency" William whispered abruptly.
Moments later he heard an acknowledgment and peered around the corner, noting a four man squad of LSF troops.
William activated the squads comm. "You're right, four hostiles around the corner, CQB kit, idiots are using NVGs" he began.
"One Flash, one shot each, I've got the two on the right, neutralize one of the two on the left, we take their commander alive" William finished, shouldering his AR-7.
Motioning with his hands, he counted down to three. On three, he clenched his fist and watched as Bradley threw the flashbang.
He pulled the pin from the flashbang, threw it and in that second he took hold of his rifle again. Both the men turned their faces from the scene to avoid the flash.
BANG!
William combat rolled to the other side of the corridor to give Lucius a clear shot and the guard. Because they were using lethal rounds the gun shots were quite a lot louder than their original non-lethal rounds. Three shots later the commander lay on the ground, grasping his head and shouting in agony. Lucius walked over to the commander, grabbed a syringe with a fluid from within his armor and injected it into the commander who fell unconscious.
Lucius : Skyhawk, this is Viper, we've got the package. We're coming out in two, LZ will be hot, over. Al right, William, let's do this. I'll carry the commander and you take out anyone we come across.
William nodded and made his way to the stairs. "We should get up to the roof, exfil through air support, I'd wager the LSF troops are all over the lower floors" he stated, checking the corridor as he went.
"Skyhawk, going to need a pickup on the roof, lower floors are crawling with hostiles" he spoke into the comm.
"Deploy Contingency THEIA" he barked into the comm, running up the stairs.
Minutes later, a thud could be heard outside, noticing a quizzical look on his comrade's face, William explained over the comm. "Contingency THEIA is the deployment of Coma gas over an area, it will neutralize everyone not in a hardsuit" he stated.
Rising another three floors, William stopped, "Hostiles, two of them" he hissed into the comm.
Peering around the corner, William tapped the trigger twice, killing both men.
"We're in the clear, just out that door is the roof, the freighter will be waiting there" he whispered, gesturing to the door down the corridor.
