Le Reseau de l'Avant-Garde

[color=#FFFFFF]ID:
Gallic Junker
IFF: Gallic Junker
ZOI: Everywhere except the Omicrons, militarized guard space and nomad space.
TAG: [R]
Base of operations: Lodeve Space Port

Information

After GRN's breakthrough into the Taus, the Gallic Junkers' utility for the Kingdom of Gallia declined. Their job as spies in Sirius didn't have the same interest for the Royal Navy now, so the one thing that backed them up with Gallic lawfuls was now ignored, and frowned upon by the unlawful parties of Gallia. With its ties to other unlawful Gallic parties damaged, the faction soon found itself disorientated, and desperate to find a new course soon spread among the Gallic Junkers. Opinions where divided. Some said they should have left before the invasion started, seeking refuge with their Sirian counterparts before it was too late. Some did leave before GRN's Tau campaign, some sneaked out short afterwards, and some stayed. But even among those who chose to remain in Gallia, thouhgts were diverse.

There where those among the Gallic Junkers who wanted to try to compete with the long established Gallic corporations, specially in the acquisition of raw materials in Sirius for their transportation into Gallia. Others claimed that this was a perfect time to pay more attention to the faction's drug dealings, seeing a good business venue in Nox and it's potential success in Sirian markets.

But there were some Gallic Junker sailors who had already been working in Sirius (as smugglers, spies, and pirates), which refused to accept the faction's new status, and wished to prove by their actions that both Gallic lawfuls and unlawfuls shouldn't take them lightly and tag them as dispensable. They intended to show the King that the war efforts could still be assisted by them. They wanted to regain the right of being as respected as they once were, and soon this group of Gallic Junker captains started plotting their course of actions.

First of all, with their relations with unlawful parties diminished, their shady dealings inside Gallia where less profitable, so they decided to consider this a secondary priority. Thus they had to seek a new venture for their main income. It was then when the idea of privateering first came into discussion. Gerrard Naville, a retired captain who had settled his business in Lodeve, suggested forming a network of Gallic Junker captains willing to set sails to Sirius, beyond the Gallic battlefront, and act as pillagers, spies and plunderers, taking the loot back to Gallia, making money out of thin air while they weakened the Kingdom's enemies and strengthened Gallia's economy. His idea was intended to save the honor of the Gallic Junkers in Gallia, so the most romantic members of the faction agreed fanatically.

The captains that agreed to join such dangerous adventure were not even close to the majority of active Gallic Junker sailors, but yet they were enough to establish a skirmisher vanguard network of captains set to torment the people of Sirius in advance of the Gallic push into the sector. They named this network Le Reseau de l'Avant-Garde for that exact reason.

Goals:

* To weaken the enemies of Gallia and their allies beyond the reach of the GRN military campaign.
* To procure by any means available the acquisition of goods in Sirius and to secure their arrival to Gallia.
* To gather intel that may be useful to the war efforts, to the Gallic Junkers, or to bargain with third parties.
* To assist in the support and manteinance of the Gallic Junker assets in Gallia.
* To regain the former status of the Gallic Junkers inside Gallia towards the lawful parties of the Kingdom.
* To avoid interfering with other Gallic Junkers in their dealings with Gallic unlawfuls.
* To strenghten the relationship with Sirian Junkers.

Ranks:

Since Le Reseau is a loosely bound network of Gallic Junker captains, there is no actual rank structure. Le Reseau works through skirmisher squadrons that range from couples of freighters to full pillaging wings led by Salvager Frigates. Each wing, regardless it's size, has a captain who then represents the whole team in the very rare Congresses of Captains held at Montecarlo only when an urgent matter demands it. On any other subject, wings communicate between each other, de-centralizing in this way the power structure, and giving it more flexibility of action.

Existing ranks: Captain (commander of a Pillage Wing), Sailor (regular pilot of a Pillage Wing).

Technology:

All Junker tech plus all Gallic and Sirius-wide civilian tech. Salvaged or obtained technollogy is also acceptable if the rp backing it up is strong enough/makes sense/doesn't endanger server gameplay. Codename weaponry is accepted.

Diplomacy

Allied - Gallic Junkers
Friendly - Gallic Royal Navy, Sirian Junkers
Neutral - Gallic unlawfuls, Gallic lawfuls
Unfriendly - Everybody not listed elsewhere
Hostile - Hogosha, Kusari Naval Forces

Rules

* Out of role play is not allowed in local or system chat.
* All members must have an active forum account (forumlancing does not bite).
* Technology limitations and general role play of the faction must be respected.
* The ship names of a given Pillage Wing must be related (ie: [R]Gates.of.Hercules flies alongside [R]Pegasi, they both have Herculean reference names).

Very interesting, funny how I have read about the Gallic Junkers just yesterday ehehe. I like the idea. Not only is it fun, cause you can RP something pretty neet, it is also Time-Line supportive.

I also like this expecialy since you are going to work as spies or something you said, well thats an great job for the GFM to deal with ;D Since we do border things and we offer to maintain relation ships outside gallia. And if you Gallic junkers try to break Sirius from within, we could be of great help since we are known outside gallia hehe!

And also a nice fitting story:)

You have my blessing

It are not the actions that defines a mans worth...

It are the intentions what are behind it,

What makes the person who he is and where he stands for.

Seen a couple things that a few other players will jump on you for, so i won't jump on those.

Anyway, [R] looks to be a very Loyal to the King, more so then [GSC] and some of the rumour cards that are about.

Anyway, good luck.

That's why I made it clear that these are only some Gallic Junkers, and in no way mean to represent the whole of the faction.

The fact that royalist Gallic Junkers still exist doesnt contradict game lore at all. After all, Gallic Junkers were really comfortable while they had the King's favor. It seems logical that some of them wish to get that back. Faction populations dont act as a block, specially in diverse factions such as junkers and zoners for example.

Also, running for offishulness is not in our goals, so we don't need to do all this 'attach strictly to lore' thingie. Please accept us as an indie bunch with a particular point of view.

This is most definitly one of the more interesting takes I have seen on a gallic junker faction. I was wondering, how are you planning to incorporate the restrictions of the Gallic Junker ID into your militant raid style of combat?

Let it burn.

We are doing fine with all of these restrictions so far. If you tell me what restriction are you curious about, I would gladly explain.

So far we have kept loyal to what Azrael Domonov pointed out as militant raid style of combat. We wish to have some feedback from those who fell victim or repelled our strikes.

Even though it says Omicrons isn't in your ZOI, will you still go there?

*Is thinking ZOI means not frequently visited but possible to*

Well if we go we will do so by being aware we are way away of our turf and act accordingly. We can. So far we do not feel that the Omicrons match our 'behind the Gallic battle frontline' philosophy. It may if Gallia expands it's own ZoI in the future.
