I'll be brief. Wouldn't normally go approaching you folks with something like this. Hell, wouldn't normally go approaching you with anything short of an attendant fleet. In short, we've got ourselves a little problem.

Calls himself the Joker. Sinking civilian shipping like a mine in a tramway. Ain't a horrible threat militarily, but he's going to tear those ships apart. Already is. Figured that you wouldn't like that anymore then I do, but there's a limit to the Navy's range of operation.

There's troops that can go where our people can't though. Namely, you. I'm not asking you to go after this guy yourself. I've got access to some operatives with that sort of capability as well. Not as many as I'd like though. All I'm asking then, is that if you come across this Joker, or anything on him, that you pass it on to me, and I'll patch it through to our units. If we get lucky, we space that ship. If we don't, might just be enough to scare him off for a while.

Now, this isn't an official communication. Not by a damn long shot. Command don't know I've sent it, and I sure as hell doubt they'd let it through if they did. Just that the Joker's an usual sort of criminal, force ain't going to cut it. No point using a hammer to get a bolt in.

You help me bring this bastard down, there's one less madman in space, and a few civilians get to keep living. Everybody wins.
