The large decorative doors opened to a matching large interior which was to be known as the Chamber Hall of Dons. The hall was wide, accompanying dozens and dozens of seats which were in the style of an open square, one side missing and continuous inner and outer layers eventually leading to the doorways. All the chairs with their respective counters in front of them faced the center of one side of the room. This was the most embellished space where the Council of Dons is to sit during their time there. It had six chairs all connected with a table just as decorative as the seats, five for the Council and one for any extra person should they be allowed to sit there. And in order for the crowd to see them, the Council seating area was raised slightly by three steps.
As the doors opened, an influx of people began to enter the newly established room. The Council of Dons seated themselves at their designated area and spoke among each other quietly as the chamber's seats were filled rapidly. Outcast businessmen, government officials, and military captains mingled with the man beside them awaiting a word from the Council. Several allowed press members representing the Border Worlds and Omicrons were given access to the room as well, seated at the very corners of the chamber under strict watch from guards. The guards stood in the outer edge of the room beside the walls, keeping watch over the convention from afar as well as checking anyone before allowing them entrance.
The crowd quickly fell silent and everyone's eyes were focused on one of the Dons seated in the center, Death Runner. He looked down and sifted through some papers, then addressed the assembly in front of him.
"I'm going to be skipping the pleasantries, as we are all busy men with a limited amount of time and things to do. This chamber hall you see before you will be used as an open forum for any and all outcasts whose cases are deemed worthy of discussion. In an attempt to become closer with the great people of this nation, we, the Council of Dons, will address each case personally. This chamber is also the place where foreign dignitaries will be heard, consisting of our allies representatives, organizations of neutral affliction, and even our normally hostile enemies."
"Allies will be welcome, as always, but, any other representative will have needed to contact us prior to arrival and arranged for one of the Dons on the council to host him. Meaning, if a mercenary organization did you wrong in the past but are here for discussion of peace, their foreign representative will be untouchable for he shall be under the protection of one of the Dons. Thus no one is to harm or even touch any man with business in regards to this chamber. Doing so will lead to your immediate execution.
"The Chamber Hall of Dons is not a place for hate. This is an open forum convention for logical reasoning in discussions and decision making. We will not handle problems of petty theft or murder, go to your local authorities for that. The issues that will be heard of here are on a large scale basis with millions of credits at stake. Because of this, we will obviously not allow an irrelevant attending audience to be present during a discussion. If you wish to have your voice heard on a particular matter simply ask the receptionist at the entrance."
Death Runner looked around at the faces. Some were smiling with glee while others had a look of confusion. He rolled himself backwards in his wheel chair and down the small ramp, then stopped at the bottom. He looked up again and people were still sitting around.
"What are you all looking at? Get out!"
Everyone quickly removed themselves from their seat and shuffled their way outside, back into the orange dream.
