Cause of cool ideas, and nice homemade graphics. I bet the whole show has the budget of a minute from the average Hollywood movie. Well, minus the cost of the filmstrip, Arriflex rental and actor honorary. I'd love to work in a project like that, even for free.
By the way, The Law on his worst moments still beats DiCaprio.

or, maybe people just like it because its every nerds dream.
It's definitely a nice new approach to HD popular media, totally better than having to pay cable as a prerequisite. The themes were indeed easy to predict, but the setting was fun. I'd say it's a great teen-drama show. If they go for too much 'quality writing' they'd be taking a risk as there is a good chance they won't get popularity, etc (most people want simple and easy-to-relate-to programmes, the freaking boring bastards). Of course, I would love to see more shows like this on youtube, but with more creative plots and better acting. Reckless Tortuga have good mini-episode shows going on, check them out if you want to kill even more time.
