Entry #13
It feels somewhat weird to keep a journal in ship logs... Well, since the the era of paper has long gone from what they're telling me I guess I can't be blamed for trying to do my best. Its been 6 weeks since they've discovered my frozen body in that pod... another 3 since they let me go with nothing but my name they've found somewhere in the salvaged pod's logs. I still can't get my thoughts together about what has happened there. Where did I come from and all that... They've told me I have amnesia and that its not likely I will get my memories back. But I do remember lots of things. Or habits rather. And I still have my instincts and reflexes. Guess thats something I can be thankful for. They weren't able to determine how long have I been frozen or what led to that catastrophy. All I know is down to simple things. I know what a pen is, or how to speak, write, but I have no memory of what has happened. Guess I'll have to learn to live with that.
Coming back to my new life - I have finally gotten somewhere and made my first million credits. Meeting that guy back on Erie was a blessing. If not for him I would never get so far so quickly. He even gave me his Starflier. After that taking a couple reckless decisions about doing a few Bounty contracts didn't turn out too bad. I smoked a couple Rouges, took my bounty money and left to buy a Rhino and live a peaceful life of a Liberty civillian that makes his living by trade. It took me about 2 or 3 days to understand the local market. Thank god for those trade lanes. So easy to travel, so fast. From Pennsylvania and planet Erie I went to Okinawa in look for good trade routes. Now I'm coursing between New Tokyo and Okinawa hauling goods back and forth making all the money I can with this lousy vessel. I keep coming across other freighter trains in my travels, dreaming of piloting one of those monsters one day, making some real money - or credits as they call it now... I hear various people on local comms talking about this cheap trade vessel on sale in Colorado system... or was it California. They say its not expensive. I'll get some credits together and have a look at it. If not I'll probably have a look around New Tokyo and see what these yellow faced bastards have to offer. But, its time to get back to work. Jordan Hayes signing off.
