I'm not sure if it is sanctionable or not. But I think that if you can't catch em then you didn't do good enough as a cop.

Just sitting around and sending in reports about guys who don't listen to you because they have no real incentive to is like being one of those fat mall cops in real life who's stuffing his mouth full of food and sends in reports when something goes wrong so OTHER guys can do what he should have dealt with.

If most of your work is causing the admins to do tons of work, then you're not doing your role right.

I say they should change the rule to: "May submit a FR5 request only after 3 documented docking violations."

SO you think it is oorp for a cop to arrest people near the planet, despite the npcs doing that? You think I should ambush them on the lanes like a pirate? Just to stop them oorp docking? Or you think it is INRP for the docking patrol to go; "sure yes come on and dock even though you just got arrested for smuggling" despite the fact that again, when the npcs arrest you for smuggling, everything goes red?

If lawfull detects and sees it - its OORP docking. If not seen, its not. Fleeing counts as a PVP death. meaning, You dock = you cant come back for 4 hours..

I've already told you Hone - if you have enough time to set it up, get along a lane and stop them where they are more than 5K from a docking point. You might not be the greatest RP, but it's no different than a roadblock/stinger being set up. Even then, at least this way gets some more player interaction rather than having to play sanction/FR5-lancer.

And Sanguine, transports and freighters are exempt from the "death by docking" rule.

Are you seriously using NPC's as basis for valid RP? "RED IS DEAD" is not RP.

I advise you to just chill out, enjoy the game, and play Freelancer instead of Sanctionlancer. If you are trying to stop someone who is doing wrong 2k away from a planet, then I think that's your fault. :P

If it's a smuggler that's run to the planet, and reaches it before I get a chance to CD/whatever, then fair play, you'd best hope I didn't get close enough to scan you or we'll be continuing the conversation once you're undocked.
I want smugglers to WIN occasionally, because then they'll come back and do it again meaning I get another chance to catch them.

If you're a pirate who's been engaged by lawful forces and you dock on a lawful base, then I'd suggest that it's horribly OORP and possibly a little rule breaky. But really, the generic pirate Id ought to rep-hack lawful forces to hostile anyway, preventing them from docking lawful bases.

Well thanks to Jamie for answering my question, if only in skype, with:

"No. That's what the FR5 is for. Shooting someone and docking on their base is against the rules though."

So its not against the rules to smuggle right past a policeman and dock on their base when they tell you to halt anymore. I disagree with this, but a least it'l save me time with sanction reports!

Yep, I thought this was an old one. All nice and resolved? Excellent.
