I've been playing Far Cry 3 HEAPS lately. What can I say, it's an awesome game. The story is insane, the characters are interesting, and the weapons are unique. The graphics are nice as well, especially on Ultra detail. One thing I don't like about the game, is the lack of interaction with general people. Some reviewers have called the game 'Skyrim with guns' - In Skyrim you could interact with random people, even if it was just a small sentence. Far Cry 3 has the occasional person talk, with their not being nearly enough side quests.
I have to love playing as a stealth character though. Capturing an outposts involves shooting the people on the top of the roofs, heading down close to the outpost and using my bow to shoot the people on the ground. The heavies left over I sneak behind and take down with the knife. Absolutely love taking outposts.
What do you guys think about the game? What do you like/dislike?
The game per se is not bad, the engine is the one we always knew (based on the Crysis one anyway), there are a lot of missions and all, the storyline didn't really surprise me, a little predictable imho.
Other than that, the layout, but no surprise here, is the one for a typical console games, which of course sucks on a pc game.
Capturing outposts with the silenced sniper is too easy, and watching a tiger set free in a camp killing all of them is a little too much.
Played it on PC and also enjoyed the stealth gameplay.
The story is somewhat decent but indeed too predictable and this kinda voodoo thing do not fit at all.
All in all it reminds me of FC2 with better gameplay. This jungle/ww2 setting looks way too commercial.
I've enjoyed the game but won't play it again. Got instead installed FC1 64bit again.
