Hi, community, i want to rumble a tad

- Long time ago, when i was in HS, our art teacher gave us an assignment to draw something. Well, I draw a Guillotine. I don't know why, i just did, and I spend quiet some time on that damn paper. I did all the shading and whatever, doing it with a pencil number 2. My fingers were all black from smearing the shadows and I was just working on it. The saddest part is, when I showed my work to her, she said: "Max, why did you copy it from a magazine?" That was a hit below the belt, i kind of succumbed inside of myself, u know. I had an inspiration to work and i did and the result was - I copied ! In reality it was just a device with all the light and shadows done. At the same time, a little earlier, she asked us to draw nature, so i drew a spring branch with leafs just popping out, i used color pencils and she put my work on display, when i really didn't spend a lot of time on it, just a sketch.

Well, you ask me, "Where are you going with this?"

Art is my battle arena. I do sports, i work out, i do crap, but i don't think u need to know about it, but when it comes to art, it is just popping out of me. It is like i am a shark, a carnivore of some kind ! I want to deliver and i get a kick out of it, when someone says: "Thanks, Max, u did a good job."

I do have a punching bag and i work out, but I don't get a kick like this from doing sports. When it comes to art, it is unexplainable, i really care about it. I can kick ass anytime I need to, but in the art field, i think i am still new. I never finished the art school, it just pops out of me. Sometimes i feel like Diogen.

During boxing, i keep calm and centered, but when it comes to art, i am so emotional and I have pictures flying in my head, like....woof---wooofff...wooofff...sketches and final products. It is kind of funny, but when someone orders from me and sends me the description of what they want, after i read it, i already have 5-10 versions of what he/she might like. It comes so fast to me, naturally.

When I look at Nomnom's work with pencil, i think :" Wow, great job." Although he can do better, but still, he does a great job with pencil.

Well, I don't know where i am going with this rant, just want to share this moment with you.

max.

Well i don't fully understand where this is going but then again I'm in drunk rants all the time so this feels natural to me. What I'd just like to say is that (if Koshi.Inaba) hasn't already told you, your work for us has been Amazing! Really, really good, in my opinion the best sigs I've seen on Disco forums, seriously. So keep up the good work (Thumbs up).

I've little idea what it's like to be an artist but plenty of experience in the world of high level sport. Just thought I'd share that with you to Smile

Thanks! Hahaha. You're not so bad yourself from the awesome work I've seen that you dished out. And I totally agree with you in the whole artist emotional thing.
I'm quite new to the sig business and I do agree I often enough think I can do better at what I do, even though people might say otherwise.
I guess its just an artist thing Smile
