Why don't you give them a single optical chip? You could say it has a special transmitter in it that sends a relay to other ships that only your people could decrypt and so it will tell them who the person workes for.
//And no, I don't like splitting up super long sentences or using commas when unnessecary.

The sign into Zone21 says: NO TRESPASSING
Violators will be shot
Survivors will be shot again
If you can still read this, you're using uber shields
I keep an Nomad power cell in the Bs|Reliance, the Order's research ship. I also have a bunch of nomads in there, all kinds of nomad brains too and a load of bounty hunters as well.
It could be weapons as well, get a code and say you're trying to make new prototypes based off what you have etc.
It's up to you imagination, (forgot who said that but I agree).
' Wrote:Speaking of contraband... How likely do you think lawfuls would be to "play along" with a slave trader trying to cover himself as a simple passenger liner?
"yes officer, I'm carrying people... yes officer, they all paid for transportation to [destination]... no officer, I assure you these are not slaves, merely refugees that I offered to transport to a safer destination..."
I'm looking into making a character entirely focused on slave trading, and that's the only 'excuse' i can think of to get out of lawful encounters. Chances are it wont work though, I'll get the usual "No nub u haf teh contarban!"
Prisoner transport might work better.
Edit: Sorry, had to cut that short. Meant to add "Unfortunately, you've got a point about them not listening to the explanations"
Hmm... Since slaves are somewhat hard to come by. (I've never seen them on any of my trade runs) that might be the answer I'm looking for. Do the NPCs consider slaves contraband?
Might I suggest something along the lines of say, a piece of gold/a diamond/niobium/silver, if you're going for a Harkonian feel? They're greedy, money grubbing bastards, and love to show their influence/power/wealth, just out of reach of others.

Darn I was hoping to play the idea that the Pilot was the slave...:$ Optical Chip might work then.

Weeeell, while the Harkonnans do have a minor slave population without of their immediate household, none of them, and I mean mother f-ing none. of. them. would ever be allowed in the cockpit of a spacefaring vessel.
Err I wasn't going for a literal translation. I was thinking of the slave item as being a little more retorical (is that even the right word?). The pilot is my "slave" until his debt is paid. Forcing him to do RP runs and smuggling till he is released from service. None of that diamond-niobium crap. Its my way of teaching noobs how disco runs. Kind of like the angels (which I absolutely respect) but a little more involved. A fallen angel if you will.
