Born on New Berlin to Simp and Ilse Kohn, who left the Rhineland system while he was a toddler because of the oppression they felt from the government, they attempted to find a sanctuary in many different systems, unsuccessfully. By the time Simp Jr became 15, Simp Sr decided it was time to try the place he last wished to go. Landing on, ironically Simp Jrs birthday, on the planet Manhattan where they were finally granted citizenship.
Simp Sr. started Freelancing for the Liberty Police as soon as he could. His family decided to settle. Unfortunately his career in Liberty space would be short lived. On his forth mission for the Liberty Police he sustained major damage to his shields. Not wanting to risk a landing with the bad shield he chose to enter orbit around Manhattan Being successful the police immediately arranged a repair ship.
While in communication with his family, to inform them of his return and reason for the delay in landing, they tragically are allowed to hear his last words. Simp Sr. Incoming missile? What the hell? Stupid LSF...<static>" the next day a report was issued by the Liberty Government about a 'training accident' involving 2 LSF and the death of a Liberty Police freelance agent. The LSF pilots we declared innocent of any wrongdoing.
One officers involved in the incident offered to pay reparations out of his own pocket which Ilse refused vehemently. Simps initial reaction to this was obviously a state of shock, but the more he thought about it he realized something. His father couldnt have been in an LSF training ground he had been saying how he was in orbit of Manhattan and awaiting repairs before he died. Everyone knows military training doesnt take place near any major trade routes.
Thus deciding his father was unjustly killed privately. Vows to avenge his death where made. Conveniently the names of the LSF pilots were left out of the report, but he did have one name to go by. Was the one who offered his family compensation, the one that he hired someone to look into who they were working with on the day in question? Luckily the LSF didnt know about the cash offer or they may have altered the records. But it lead to the knowledge that $$$$$$$$ was the one who fired the missile that finished off his fathers ship.
Ilse was in a state of shock for only a short time before she started raving about the consistencies between Liberty Government and the Rhineland state Security. Telling her son she couldnt stay another day in the clutches of madmen she forced Simp Jr. to leave once again in the hope of finding a home where others of her family had already settled with the IMG. Simp Jr was now the sole provider for the family and had to find a way to make money. He decided to take what his father left to buy a ship the "star flier" and start a career as a Mercenary, thinking it the best way to come closer to fulfilling his vow.
Unfortunately money is low and he cant afford a good ship his contacts arent great amongst the IMG so he is basically destitute.
Simp was very fortunate in Meeting a Mercenary by the name of Jack sinful who offered to lone him money for a better ship with only a modest interest rate. This Simp Jr accepted generously knowing it was his only way of fulfilling his dream. Now with his mother a full-fledged citizen of the IMG he was slowly getting contracts as a mercenary. But they were never very good. Everyone saw him as too inexperienced or else looked at his ship and thought it wasnt enough to protect them for the long voyages they were departing on. Luckily while in transit to a contract Simp Jr met up with a Xenos Terrorist, who after hearing his story, may have seen a promising recruit, chose to invest upon the young man a few choice weapons and some armor to help him acquire his dream.
