' Wrote:Green Day? Then it's time for some classic punk, or rather some slightly more classic punk.

NOFX, Ramones, will do you for a start.
I second Del with that, and I'll further the list.

Social Distortion - One of my all-time favorite bands "Mommy's Little Monster" and "Prison Bound" are THE albums to get.

The Misfits - Overrated, overplayed, and their tshirts are overworn. Still, "Where Eagles Dare" is a classic.

Rancid - Also has a lot of hype, but the hype is well founded because there isn't a single bad song on the "And Out Come the Wolves" collection.

Less Than Jake - More ska than punk, but most people I know who like Sum 41 like LTJ also.

Against Me! _ yes, the exclamation point is part of their name. I don't care for their older stuff too much, but I can't get enough of their most recent album "New Wave."

The Offspring - Decent punk and they have a new album out if I'm not mistaken.

Anti-Flag - Pretty politically charged stuff. You can enjoy the music without agreeing with the lyrics though. Their new album "The Bright lights of America" is pretty good.

Pennywise - Probably the closest to your style of music. Their new album "Reason to Believe" is decent. Some of the songs are annoying to me, but there's 18 songs on it so you have plenty of choices.

I think that covers most of the punk that you'd be interested in.

If you want to not be musically retarded like most American teens are these days, you have to start listening and downloading albums, not just hit songs. Seriously, when I was 12 all I listened to was the songs I liked that I heard on the local classic rock radio station. It got to the point where I couldn't even listen to my music anymore because I was sick of it. Then, I got a faster internet connection and started downloading whole albums. I've never gotten tired of my music since, because now I have such a wide variety.

I mostly lurk around Media Center these days.

I'ma be a rebel and recommend Mugar and Great Big Sea. Waaaay out there, for you, but I'd still suggest trying them.

Mugar does a Celtic-Kabyle fusion. The Kabyle are a Berber ethnic group in northern Africa. I myself am half Kabyle. It's an interesting sort of music, and probably like nothing you listen to usually, but I like it quite a lot. I think they only have two albums out, though.

Great Big Sea is a Canadian band from good ol' Newfoundland. Folk/rock sort of thing. Pretty good.

I for one, recommend returning to our ancestors! Celtic folk, medieval folk and pagan folk ftw.:P

Bands like Omnia, Faun, Dunkelschon, Corvus Corax and Rapalje may interest you..

Here is an interesting song by Faun that effectively mixes medieval instruments with modern techno drums.

Ooh! Powerman 5000 has been suggested! And Mad Caps'! Good times, good times....

Has anyone suggested Pendulum yet? They're mighty awesome for dancing/drinking to.

This week, I've mostly been listening to Gojira, though... Metal with samples of whale noises. Works surprisingly well.
