My personal opinion thinks the current PoB model just needs to change first, its either too weak or to strong at one time, and no balance in between. Then we can see afterwards if the Siege ship would actually bring a good additions to the siege warfare.

Nice idea with that siege ship. But you realy think that it will be used for RP purposes? And should every faction get a siege ship? I would limit it for the house military only.

Generally, the POBs needs to be revised. They are to strong and consumes to much materials and above all, a lot of time. More functions wouldn't be bad. Like a "shipyard" or a "weapon factory", where you can build up your own ships and weapons that you have requested on forums before.
Or different station models. Before you set up your base you can choose a station type.

All in all that would make the POBs more interesting. ^^

Yeah thats what I was mainly going for, so factions that are military's and criminals.or other things that makes sense like Order, and BHG|Core. Obviously we don't need factions like trading factions or zoners having them. zoners are peaceful, peaceful factions wouldn't need it. And yes pob's need to be revised I agree but for now That isn't happening it seems.

A slightly off topic but related idea, would it be possible to have bases lock out any repair item delivery for a certain time (say 24-36 hours) upon taking a percentage of it's health as damage (10 - 20%).

To stop the spam and needless lag you could limit the damage the base takes per minute, adjusting the health of the base along with it.

Alternatively you could remove the bases entirely, maybe repurpose them as points of dominance for strategic systems depending on what the engine will allow.

I don't know, I am really not an expert in base destruction. I bombed one with 2 little mortars for a couple of hours and it did not affect it at all. So the amount of damage would be something to be discussed.

the idea would be something slower than the mortar but that deal more damage. I am still able to shoot fighters with mortars when they are close to my battleship. with such torpedoes it would be impossible.

Well, After checking over the Voting so far, it seems its quite balenced out,
So far I assume we need more suggestions from the people who said nay, and the reasoning why they said nay,
having lolwuts driving them is pretty much rare at worst, I want reasons from the people who said no, as it seems most of the people who said no, just left the thread after they said no, I would love to hear the reasons for why you said no and what is the main cause why. Im not trying to beat a dead horse or anything like that but so far I haven't gotten really any other reasons why, if this was going to happen it should be that most if not all people can enjoy it,
