I wonder what the system requirements are going to be. But it does look fairly user friendly.

I don't know about this. While it is most certainly possible, considering that our brain can do it as well - create objects from fotos through knowing what the thing is made up of and all - it seems a bit "too easy". Too smooth.

I don't really like how the video so quickly glances over what would definatly not be a small achievement, even if it isn't that useful for the professionals - which are the people who really count regarding this.

What made me wonder a bit is for example the telescope part starting at 1:24 - the background is just a little bit too detailed in my opinion. While on other pictures used it can be done, here no algorithm can "just like that" recreate the wall behind the object for example. (Look when the telescope is turned and tilted down.) On the other hand, the telescope parts clearly show algorithm-textures on the parts which were previously hidden and start to show as it is turned, tilted and manipulated as well as having some texture errors on them, which is to be expected.

Overall it might be nice to get a shape from an real life object and then work with that, but it is not as precise as a more professional modeler would need it to be. Especially texture-wise. Not to mention it being limited to rather basic forms, even though some of the forms they use are already more complex than one would expect...

I don't know overall. Overall I feel like a video presenting a new editing software should give the viewer more time to take in what is done and show him a bit better how it is done. But then again, the real presentation for this won't be until later this november, on that exhibition in Asia.
We might see in a few years where it goes from there...it's quite normal to pick things that work for your presentation: even though some failure cases have been shown, there's no telling how well it actually works overall.

if this is the first gen, then the tenth gen ought to be good. I used to have to use corel draw 9. illustrator 6 is so much better - and thats twenty years time.
