OUT OF TOPIC
- just to think about -
This makes people think Disco is bad. One group of players needs to show their duel superiority in real battle, out of Conn. Other group of players can't seat and watch their friend getting "pounded real hard".
Who should feel stupid in situations like this? One that wanted to duel? Ones that were watching their friend dying? You don't have to study psychology to answer that...
Lacking of any clear OFFICIAL server pointer about out-of-Conn dueling makes more and more people just get disappointed.
So I suggest: If both sides agreed in local chat to duel, duel must be finished by one killing the other, with no help from others. Is it hard to add to Server Rules? Would this bring more chivalry to our fallen Community?
OK,I see your point...
Perhaps changes are needed, but I didn't wanted to duel.
Duel was imposed upon me,and when I started wining, whole hell broke loose.
Duels outside Conn are nothing like the ones in Conn, perhaps the participants should agree on the terms of the duel prior the duel, and witneses should be there to keep the duel fair.
I''m not saying that you have should let me kill your friend there, maybe some RP reasons could be made at the spot to end the duel(like:he is just a cadet, let's help him.Or-he carries important info onboard his ship,he must survive).
I could live with that, those are valid reasons.
Anyway, thank you Pepe for pointing out the reasons to me,I'll try to negotiate terms of duel next time, that might be usefull for all players.

Not possible. It would require explicit non-RP chat which is technically against the rules. Further, nobody is expected to adhere to a RP request so far as the rules are concerned. Suffice to say, nobody is expected to oblige by non-RP requests either. I can't see this changing any time soon.
But I do agree that this thread is very, very off-topic and needs to be kept within the desired context.
Actually, dueling is something that should be reasoned by RP, as duels are not common in war. Sadly, honor is not common as well. That's why I think duels and any other major honor-related aspect of the game should be regulated by rules. Or official pointers, at least. Games can teach us some things we didn't learn in school and Disco is good game for that. I play it with my son.
So back to topic: If you dudes have any fresh idea how to improve server fair play, go try it on Punishers. They represent average player pretty well, coming from all countries and time zones, all ages, all levels of skills (except pro), all kinds of sense for justice... They depend on team work and ships/guns features like any other player. Some drink and than eat too much sausages, like any other people. But, if you just wanna change Punishers by pressure, good luck with that.
I'm sure devs will change many Gallic ships when Gallia gets alive as it could be. Nice system music is not enough, obviously. Or ore prices, tech charts... What else to try?
So I had an encounter with you guys on my AI character like 2 weeks ago and there are issues.
Firstly, you knew where the AI cam from, which is quite odd for a faction that hasn't interacted with us before or have any intel on us.
Secondly, you let me off the hook. This isn't really all that important, but you should have charged me some credits or escorted me out of the system or been a bit more xenophobic. Most factions (Gallia in particular) should be afraid or hostile towards another race. Sure, this isn't a major part, but it was kinda like a "Your an AI and we are cool with that moment" when you pillage everything else under the sun.

You would be totally right, if Punishers did not interact with AI before. But they did - in game. Due to laziness to make a report about it, there's no records on Forum. So they didn't meet any AI officially, which makes you right again, but not in their eyes. That AI was pretty friendly, maybe even your AI was white target to Punishers. And if it does not shoot at "bloody Gallics" right on, like 765014710896576 others, must be friendly!
I'd like them to do more RPs on forums, even bad ones, as it's path of knowledge. Sadly, many don't mind that feature of Disco.

You keep reengaging, docking and undocking, logging new ships, feeding. Multiple times. And overall you claim to be a "bomber faction" when you pretty much only use gunboats.
Lol.
