Most of all I'd like to see more interesting cargo in the transport convoys.

For a reason unknown to me there's a lot of empty transport convoys, I'd say about 40%. Another 40% is carrying food, water, oxygen, scrap metal and such not-very-profitable commodities... maybe that explains why the escorts are so harmless.

Anyway, there could be a bit more transports carrying industrial and commercial commodities ...

So that newbie pirates could actually earn for a living. Because all they hear is that trading's the fastest, best and only way to start up ... which is false. In the middle stage, one can earn hundreds of thousands of credits in Liberty by just stealing H-Fuel with a CSV.

Of course there are empty Transports.
They bring goods to a station and fly empty back, which is their task.
And somebody has to carry oxygen, food & other stuff.
There are a lot transports which carry high-prize-goods, gold, for example.

A lot? I'm afraid I'll have to disagree. There are only a few. About one in a hundred and in specific locations. Perhaps you could prove your point and show me someday?

Wow I must have decent luck on my Slater character, I see 1/8 transport/trains full of diamonds and gold.

Its all luck and to do with the NPC company. Strike rich with Bowex I seem to see, and Interspace on the rare occasion.

Pirating NPC's is tricky since when you blow up a transport of any type seems to summon lots of lawful itching to rip you up.

Interesting. That sort of itching is something I never noticed / just doesn't bother me.

As far as i know it all depends which faction's transport it is. Also, transports go from A to B and back to A to restock, they don't do circular routes so you'll see them go back empty half the time.

Really? Quite a lot of rumors on various bases say quite the opposite.
