hey guys

got myself a new laptop, so I was thinking to ask.

Packard Bell EasyNote TE69KB

Its got: 4 GB of RAM
AMD E1-2500 APU with Radeon HD Graphics 1.4 GHz CPU
Windows 8, 64 bit

Will my laptop overheat if I try to play FL on it ?

You have roughly the necessary parts to run it--But really it depends on your specific equipment its self. I mean you can run Windows 8, so obviously its new enough?

No, not at all. FL is a ten year old game, and even with the Discovery mod installed - and possibly even the ENBSeries bloom plugin enabled, if you're lucky - that laptop should have no problems whatsoever running it. Probably. I haven't actually seen FL tested on any of the new AMD APUs yet, but the Windows Aero GUI is probably more demanding than Freelancer nowadays.

I've got an Acer laptop with an A6 APU, runs freelancer no problem at max graphics. Granted the laptop has a secondary dedicated GPU, your laptop should run it no problem.

Also, my laptop doesn't overheat. It does heat up to the point of I can't have my mouse to close to the vent (I'm left handed) but it's playable.

Power does not corrupt. Fear corrupts... perhaps the fear of a loss of power.

no your laptop should not overheat, as long as you dont (funny i know) place it on your lap!

heat generated from you could cause any laptop to overheat, best is to make sure that there is enough air gap under it, if you place on lap or something that could stop airflow then you will get overheating
