Summary: The Jolly Rogers are a group of independent pirates, united under the banner of riches and organization. The Jolly Rogers often resort to bribes and money to get their way, with force being used as a second alternative. Piracy and illicit cargo hauling are the main financial income for the Jolly Rogers, however it has been known that some Jolly Rogers are active in the head hunting business. Currently, the Jolly Rogers rely on Junkers and zoners for resupply points, and avoid getting into scuffles with house specific piracy groups. The Jolly Rogers, due to their lack of specific connections to piracy groups, currently have no dedicated area of operations.
Background/Story: In November of 818 AS, a meeting between successful pirates took place. Among them where names such as Samuel Livingston, Miles Green, and Sextus Pompeius. During the meeting they discussed the state of decay that occurred within the underworld. The Outcast Civil War, the Vagrant Raiders exit from the Cardamine scene, the encroachment of Gallia into Bretonia and Liberty, and the overall disorganized nature of piracy where topics of discussion.
At the end of the discussions, a code of piracy was drafted. And thus were born the Jolly Rogers. Samuel Livingston was voted to be the Pirate King, with Miles Green and Sextus Pompeius being Pirate Lords. A Border Worlds Transport, Hell’s Wrath, under the command of Samuel Livingston became the flagship, and mobile HQ.
The Pirate Codex: The Pirate Codex, or “code” as it was learned to be known dictates the strict governing ruleset that regulates the Jolly Rogers, promoting fairness to it's members. The Origins of the Pirate Codex trace back to documents saved from before the Sol Exodus, with the modifications being made as required to account for the new galaxy. The Codex also has segments that can be attributed to the Bretonian Buccaneers, who have since ceased to exist. A public version of the code may be accessed via the neural net beacon A593G.
Politics: Allied: None Friendly: Junkers, Zoners No Piracy but otherwise neutral: House specific piracy groups Neutral: Everyone else Un-friendly: Lawful Organizations, Including House Militaries and Police
Ships Used: Unlike most groups, the Jolly Rogers has no specific ships they use. As long as the owner of the craft is in accordance with the Code, he/she may pilot the ship until such time as he or she is unable to do so. Generally, the Jolly Rogers fly ships avaliable to normal legal citizens, be it from the CTE line to the Border worlds line.
Faction Roster: Pirate King - Samuel Livingston

Pirate Lord - Sextus Pompeius

Recruitment: Applying for the Jolly Rogers is unorthodox. Should an recently unaffiliated pirate wish to join, he simply has to request it. All applications will be granted, and as long as he or she follows the guidelines set forth by the Pirate Codex, he shall remain within the faction. To be added to the group's communication matrix, send a Neural Net Communication to this account, which will be then forwarded to the Pirate King. Alternatively, you can send a private S.K.Y.P.3 message beacon to "thejollyrogers_fl" for communication synchronization.
At the request of a faction member, we have opted to not post the players names who are currently in the faction. Also, at the time of posting the faction post should be considered a work in progress.
I approve the effort of bringing a fairness code to piracy. Unfortunately, I doubt many players will want to join exactly for that same reason. Keep trying though, I'll watch this with interest

Their own fault for not joining. Why don't you join if your interested? You have to talk to the Leader but he's a pretty chill guy.

These two questions are a bit connected. We don't currently have any outright ties to any particular pirate groups, but once we do start getting positive (Or negative) encounters with groups that will shape our Zoi. Our goal is money, not starting a pointless fight between unlawfuls.
Power does not corrupt. Fear corrupts... perhaps the fear of a loss of power.

Not personally interested in piracy, but I'll be intrigued if this faction manages to succeed in its intended goal. It will be good to find decent RPing pirates more often.
Original Post updated with some lightweight formatting, thanks to Andrew (Switchback) for that. The Flag should be considered a placeholder until we are able to commission a unique image for the group, unless the consensus approves it as our final flag. I would like to hear people's feedback, here or via my skype, thejollyrogers_fl. Your feedback is an important step in shaping the faction.
