We are the Union of Gold. In 752 AS, on Founders day, we over threw our Bretonian oppressors. Dublin and Londonerry are now firmly under our control. Our fleet is more advanced than ever, and we begin to spread our influence throughout the universe. The lessons we learned fighting our war of independence carry us through to a new generation of pilots. Our past is written in Blood, and our future will be written in glory.
Recently, a war with the Colonial Remnant has begun, bringing Outcasts, Lane Hackers, Corsairs, and now, even the Bretonians and all their allies to Dublin to join in the fight. The Colonial Remnant's attacks on our home are now dying down, giving us a chance to concentrate on our main goals. The Treaty of Dublin was made, and signed by the major Bretonian factions, peace was now reached between the Union and its neighbors, our independence has finally been reached! Now, our government is being set up and we now fight side by side with the QCRF and BPA against their enemies. On top of this new trade agreements with Liberty are being drawn up. The primary objective however, is to take our vengeance on the Corsairs for what they did to Planet Cork in Londonderry. The thousands who were lost on Cork shall not be left unavenged. Our men, resources, and gold, have not been used in vain!
Dublin is becoming a center of trade, our economy is booming as Molly gold finds markets throughout the universe. Fighters and capitol ships churn from the production lines at the newly constructed Foyle shipyard. A great new horizon, a golden horizon, rises over Colerain base, our headquarters. The call to arms reaches far and wide...will you answer it?
To be a Union of Gold pilot you must be smart, tough and loyal to the death. The rewards of becoming our brother or sister will never cease to grow. We will lay down our lives for you, but you must do the same for us.
Be warned though. We do not accept the weak. You will earn every promotion, every ship upgrade, every stripe on your shoulder. You will become hardened in battle, and your name will become known to the masses. You will earn it all in blood and fire, or you will die in the attempt.

If the Mollys declare peace with the Crown, then I see little to no future for them as an interesting faction to play. They become more or less like a commercial faction, except they will truly be restricted to their ZOI...so what is there for them to do? Fight Corsairs and Gaians, I suppose....it seems to me to be no wonder that the UOG characters disappeared from space the day after the truce was posted on the forums. That is precisely what I expected to happen. This game revolves around conflict, and the Mollys' primary source of conflict has just been erased, and so has their reason for existing. Rather sad, if you ask me. This seems to be a clear example of how peace is bad for business...or in this case, game-play.
My suggestion : get back to mugging the Queen.

Right, that argument I've issues with, because the UoG have been similarly inactive for most of my time here. There was a flurry of activity around the time of the treaty, and the treaty was fun, and then the leadership of the mollies all left disco, or drastically cut down their playtime, and the faction dissapeared again. That had very little to do with the treaty. The treaty didn't actually change how they acted, either. They'd been doing that for months before the treaty, and Igiss started it, I just drew a lot of attention to it. People revolted against it. Mollies maintain the mines, and before that, they'd raid NY or NB, rather than bother the Bretonians. I earnestly believe there wouldn't be any mollies around if that treaty hadn't outraged some people.
As is, in the Disco cannon, the Mollies have a rather constrained Zoi, and are in the situation of both despising the Queen and helping the BAF....odd, don't you think?
I also suspect that the UoG have more to do than say the RM, who are quite active, and more than even the QCRF. They've the commerce you mentioned, and still a hostility with the BMM, and under the terms of the treaty they would need to protect the commerce in Molly space, which is rather large, and involves a fairly active traderoute. They've the possibilty of attacks on the corsairs, or raids on the taus. They're constantly in combat with the CR, and have often flown to the aid of the QCRF.
Might I add, in conclusion, that the Molly Clans are about to blow the treaty wide out of the water? And that I suspect, soon after that, most of the Molly Clans will find other characters, and the Mollies will return to their sleepy state.
The Molly Clans are here to stay. We're not going anywhere, as we have definite goals that can never be achieved but we can still have fun trying to achieve them. Plus hopefully we can increase the activity in bretonia, both between our interactions with the UoG and the QCRF/BPA, yes the dichotomy between hating the queen and hating the corsairs will exist, but given the Clans are apt to breaking out into infighting as much as they are to start shooting their enemys we'll be leaving it up to random chance as to who we actually end up shooting.
I'd truly like to see the UoG more active, but given I ahven't been in game much the last week I can't speak volumes on their activity recently. The UoG and Molly Clans could provide an interesting RP just in Dublin alone.
Saint Del is considered a holy healer of diseases of children, but also as a protector of cattle.
Sorry about the late response guys. School just started Monday, anyway down to business.
About the activity, as Unselie said we did have a flurry of activity before I took my break, things basically went down after the leaders left. But when they gave the clan to me it went up then down again. Xoria may be right, but I still think we can have plenty of action. Defending Bretonia, occasionally helping QCRF against Kusari and attacking Omega-5 or Gamma. Unfortunatly we can't exactly just get rid of the treaty, it just doesn't fit the RP, we've always been striving for independence and we have it now.
I'll get to the ship list and hardware hopefully tonight.
And we need tons of help with member count as most people have probably noticed.
