need help

:$ I have finally be able to get on the server and flown around a bi. Some nice people have been talking to me but for the life of me i am unable to talk back. I click on the face icon and the sub menu comes up i click on someone to talk to? but nothing happes !! How do get the dialogue box to appear?

Thats if the chat key has been left on the default setting.

also, the "Y" key brings up the chat list.
