I have 2 computers and loaded Freelancer on both my home and office computers. Yes, I now know I could have entered the same account on both machines but did not realize it at that time. I now have a cruiser and a Large Train on each.

Is there a way to move the characters all to one account?

Or, how do I change the account code on one of the computers to have the same account on both machines? I can then delete the duplicate characters.

Note: I would prefer to move the characters and keep their stuff.

Well to make both comps have the same account you'll need to uninstall then install FL (reinstall does not wipe the account data). You can't move chars from one account to another, but you can go buy a cheap ship for both chars, and sell the weaps and transfer the money to a char on the other account.

It's impossible to move chars between accounts, as far as I'm concerned.

You may edit/restore keys through direct registry editing like described in Freelancer ID pinned thread, or maybe use Korrd's program.

Korrd made a program that lets you manage more than one account on FL at one time on one computer, I see no use to transfer the characters what so ever just load the 2 accounts into the program and switch as needed.

Edit: Oops, Igiss already said something about this.

And also, he is talking about 2 accounts on different computers, not just 2 accounts on the same computer. Korrd's program won't be able to do anything for it.

If I got it right... like this, u have account A on computer 1 and account B on computer 2, solution is simple:

use Korrd's prog to export the registry key (account number) or you can do that manually by exporting the registry key yourself (if you don't know how, I recommend Korrd's prog) from the both computers.

It will export a accountnameinflam.reg file for each account.

now, just have copied both accounts (*.reg files) on both comps

now, on both comps double-click the .reg file you brought in from the other comp (account B on comp 1 and account A on comp 2) windows (regedit I think) will ask you to confirm addition of the information in the .reg file, - you click OK

then, start FLAM (Korrd's prog) and accept the new account it found (add to database)

and, voila - u have both accounts to play on both comps!

If the stars should appear one night in a thousand years, how would men believe and adore and preserve for many generations the remembrance of the city of God? - from 'Nightfall' by I. Asimov
The Outcasts consider Siniestre Nube a sacred place for several reasons. Early explorers discovered a jumphole within the depths of the cloud that leads to a strange world of ringed stars and strange craft. All ships in the burrial ground are placed facing that hole to honor the Alien Spirits. - An Outcast rumor
