Thanks yes, I remember, you too!

Anyway, being able to put a custom infocard on your base, like we can on our ships, - can we still do that? http://discoverygc.com/forums/showthread...t=infocard - would be great, and itd be ingame RP, which I approve of. And I can see how making people post a picture of it on the forums would make sense for the grandfathered bases, if you agree with the new restrictions.

However the problem is letting people know, how are people who only briefly go on the forums a couple times a month, and who still have every right to play the game supposed to know?

Seasons Base sometimes drops below 100%. It's not because VR's incapable of mustering the player force to keep it stocked, but because we have things in our lives we like/have to do outside of our second job here at Discovery.

Retired, permanently.

That just prooves that your group is not capable of taking care of your stations as one should. My point stands, minor groups shouldn't be able to upkeep station easily.

Yep, the personal infocard commands on the post you linked still work. And you actually can already add descriptions to your base as seen halfway through this post.

Quote:On infocards, many just give a basic purpose or a secondary title - at least they demonstrate that the individuals have enough RP in mind to take the time and type "/base info 1 a <text>" and give it a simple description.

Code:
/base info <paragraph> <command> <text>

The descriptions you see in the base status list are actually the result of that in-game commands and not done on the forums - it's the "more" link that connects to base threads. Unfortunately, the only way to see the cards in-game is to dock on the base and check the Information/F9 screen. I would ask the devs if it's possible to do a scan or /showinfo while targeting a base outside.

As for notifying base owners, that's definitely a hole in the proposal. Might be a dumb idea, but perhaps something akin to an informative sanction notice commodity (obviously not the same tone) to alert owners to the front page notice?

I know a lot of my stuff gets buried in rambling posts. I'm considering TL;DRs and bullet points.

Yes I tried doing f9 and showinfo on kings cross before asking if they could get their own in focards, thats what I meant, I know they have their own details inside. But you cant do it atm.

What about all the players who spent ages building their bases and maintaining them - are you suggesting they all get removed?

What about the current lag? Do you want to play on a server which crashes every minute? Indeed it is hard work to build up a base. I also lost a base long time ago.
But think about the other side. The more bases we have, the more lag we will get.
We don't need to delete bases. We have many options to reduce lag.
