This is ooRP and will likely be removed, but frankly its painful to watch this kind of thing unfold over and over so here's what needs to be said regardless. (Edit: Was moved from Base Attack Declaration Forum )



This (FinnMcScrap) guy is clearly new and was taken aback by whats gone on, he probably doesn't know the complete server rules or even have an inkling about House Laws regarding this subject either, but he just had his new toy/investment blown up without having much of an idea why. Instead of yelling at him about "trial by forum" (which clearly was not his purpose) and defending why you were right in attacking the station (which nobody is going to punish you for anyways), why not actually help the new guy out with any helpful links or information regarding Server Rules/House Rules/RP implications.

Though if this is seen by anybody, dont start with this one : ) because I've already PM'ed the new guy myself and will help him along and instruct him on how to pursue his ideas within Disco's environment.

I simply cannot comprehend how it is not blindingly obvious by now that there is a desperate need for new players-- and more specifically there is a distinct difference between the new players who come here and pew everyone, disregard the Server, cheat/troll, and are eventually banned; versus the new players who come here to have fun and explore the universe, but lack the complete understanding of our complex server.
Experienced players forget that we have a massively complex Server -- it has evolved for an entire decade! -- and so our berating Noobs for gameplay/policies/practices they likely don't comprehend yet is exactly why nobody stays here. It's an unreasonable expectation at this point.


So considering that new players pose zero real risk to any established players, then even when they are first breaking some rules, we experienced folks should be seeking to aid them before we feel the need to defend ourselves or cut them down immediately...
At the very least we could pretend to be friendly to others so that we can at least have a shred of server population left to enjoy FL with before Star Citizen finally drops and steals whats left from Disco.

Thx. This Post means a lot. And I´m not out jet.

I will take longer now, and I expect to stumble over time.

I´m new to this server, but I´ve been playing RPG in LARP, in P&P, in online Games and in MMORPG for over 2 decades.
I meet a lot of interesting players here, and I see a lot of the classic "its me in my great [insert x boat] and I can beat you all" , too.

Happens in every Game and always will.

I´m still here, no worry ;-)

Its bad luck about what happened, most of the time its not so rough getting a base started. They're pretty vulnerable during their first few days though.

When you get one built, the first thing you wanna do is get your shield up, then stock it with repair commodities (Robotic Hardare + Ship Hull Panels), as well as normal reinforced alloy. It will make sure the base can repair battle damage, which is different from regular wear and tear. I've seen core 1's withstand quite a bit with just a shield and being well stocked.

If you're a Junker, as well, you can always rp a request to shipping factions, freelancer transports, or the Junkers Congress/Junker Marauders for help in fast supply.

...took a few days off and tested another server as I´m on sickleave this week.
( Don´t really know how I can get a Cold while sunbathing, but anybody want´s to swap me ? )

And guess what ?

I noticed that it takes the fun out of the game when I´m only shot at from NPC´s.

But : That doesn´t mean you´ve got to take the cannons of Navarone to line on a dingy, ok ?
