I realized that as I was putting this together. However, one might presume that since they went and created this feature, and especially because they added the black market engines, that the objective was to make every flavor of engine available for every ship type. Hence, I wanted to point out as many cases as I could find where an engine was not available for a particular ship.

Moved to the tutorials section, this thread gives a bunch of juicy information that other players can learn about different engine types.

I've been wondering about this for a while. I don't remember who it was, but I remember seeing a ship with a mounted engine and it said it was a black market engine. Is this real, or could I have miss read or something?

Black Market engines are the ones sold at the Freelancer bases, Barrier Gate For sure. If you look at the tech chart you will see that none of the sirian IDs can mount a gallic engine at full power. The Blackmarket engines are all the gallic engines including civilian, corse, council and GRN.
