Remmember back before December 2007 when you could hit multiplayer and see hundreds of servers, dozens of them bustling with activity?

Now, it reads 'Connecting to global server' forevermore, looking for a master server that hasn't existed for almost a decade.

It'll never connect.

We're all that's left.

But even at back then, there was seldom a server as large as Disco.

Keepin' the dream alive.

I wasn't introduced to Freelancer until way after the Master Server went down. Thankfully I got the work-around quite quickly and played some non-Discovery for a while. It's sorta hard to believe that Freelancer is really eleven years old.

Global Server is not working for a very long while already and the fix was introduced almost immediately back then. But the part that not much of FL players left is true.

To be fair, FL never had a cult following either.
It wasn't like the UT99, which still is going strong.
FL was never really anything groundbreaking from a gaming point of view. It was just a space combat and trading sim with some above average pvp fun online.

Tell this to people from Hamburg City, who could spend time from 6pm to 5am on massfighting under Crete, and stopping just because they had to go to work (317th, 301st, T~P, F-TI, SLF, STE, RIP, Nuclear and other different clans). And I was one of them.

Those times, used to play on Freelancer Co.UK server alot was active as hell also times where you were like refreshing for DiscoGC server like rapidly and waited until a slot of those 225 players got free XD
