Not this. Anything but this. Avoid this like the plague unless you collect 5k transports.

The developers seem to have shoehorned people into buying "house" transports that sell for cheaper and have better maneuverability stats, so that it's harder to change your affiliation at the end of the day. (One cannot fly a Mastodon Liberty 5k with Republican Shipping ID for instance.)

Why not? Powercore is irrelevant on an effectively turretless 5ker.

Quote:Advanced Train on the other hand? Grab some bribes, change your ID, welcome to a new you.

Either that or it's sheer coincidence that an Advanced Train has all these negative factors against it's purchase.

Well I would say the main reason the Stork is slower, more expensive, and has less armor than the house 5kers is that it's less than half the size in comparison (except vs the Pachyderme).

Which is pretty broken, especially for the poor Colossus, which unlike the Pachyderme and Ryuujin doesn't have defenses, and unlike the Mastodon and Shetland doesn't have extra survivability.

As for the topic at hand....when choosing a sub-5ker in a situation in which you could be using a 5ker, you should be looking for more advantages than just buying price. Smaller size, more turrets, etc. I would not buy a Crane.

I'm curious as to where I mentioned powercore?

Apart from that, I didn't take size into account, having owned and flown all of them I didn't think it was that big a difference. I was wrong. However, I'm quite sure a pirate SNAC is going to find them all regardless.

Anything I say is not intended as offensive, and to try and deliberately misinterpret it as such would be an attempt at trolling via misrepresentation.

It's not a conspiracy, it's localised bias. They're not intelligent enough to form a conspiracy.

Wow, I never realized how much difference there was in some of the sizes (though I've not flown some of them too much either, or at all in the case of the Gallic transports).

Okay, now I'm confused. Why did you say you can't fly a Mastodon as Republican Shipping, if not for the power core (and making sense inrp)?

Don't forget the train's advantage of having cargo pods mounted that save you from being SNAC'd (they have their own hitpoints and just fall off without your train taking damage). Saved me lots of times when I still flew one. Also, it's shape makes it easy to dodge fire.
