Well, when starting a fight you have to think in two things:

1- Does your ID allow you to engage the ship in question? Because if not, you are not following your ID's allowances, and that would be a violations of rule 1.3;
2- IF your ID allows you to start an engagement and the guy is insulting you, its a perfectly valid reason to burn him. But pay attention of the kind of ship the guy is flying. If it is a transport, most IDs force you to make a demand prior to engaging, and only if the guy refuses it you can fight him. (for an instance, you can request the guy to leave, like Vinits wrote, and if he refuses then you can burn him.)

Yes within reason. I can think of a certain Baffin incident where I acted violently upon being insulted by arch-enemies.

If someone calls you a poohead then no, that's not a reason to get all upset and start shooting.

You can make up any reason if you want a fight.

And of course it's, unless you're roleplaying a fool character.

If someone insults you isn't that a reasonable reason to shoot and kill him?

As for the topic itself, I'd say yes, but within the bounds of the ID. Mostly this works well for unlawfuls like Outcasts who can engage most things anyway with little to no provocation. It's a great lead in for a pew.

Because there are Outcasts whose brains are eaten by Cardamine and would even attack Ally for even mentioning harmful influence of Cardamine. Duh.

I think despite the fact that we are born and raised in different cultures that we still know how to tell a duck from a snake. Outcasts can be traced back to spain or argentina and even mexico, so its reasonable for them to use words such as "pendejo" - but like real world insults, its all about the context through which the word is used.

Were fools to make war on our brothers in arms.

Havok nailed it 100% in post #2

To put it in other words, if you're playing a character with a short temper, it's probably ooc not to fight, but it just simply depends who you're flying & how they think
