I don't mean the Bounty Hunter's Guild, I mean Bounty Hunters, as in Freelancers. I would prefer it if military vessels were superior to civilian ones, but it probably won't get through because of total balance, yeah.

Freelancers are...well, freelancers and Bounty Hunters are bounty hunters.

Freelancers shouldn't be the ones chasing down criminals, they should be escorting traders, scouting systems, supporting people with better financial backing...whilst the BHG is not very tight knit, they have the resources available to get better guns/ships, IMO. After all, the very existence of the Guild hinges on the premise "We can kill your criminals for you".

Mimir has said it all... almost.

I'll add my opinion regarding over 9000 new guns with new refires which appeared in .87.
In vanilla (and till late .86 or .87, I don't remember) each faction had it's weapons with unique combination of refire/speed/damage/efficiency.
However, recently it was decided to give each faction a wide spectre of guns. Now almost everyone has access to, let's say, 5.88 refire guns. Futhermore, most of them have similar stats.
For me faction loadouts lost their unique "taste", taking away part of my fun.
The stated reason behind it was to "balance" PvP, however it could be done with just slight adjustments to damage and efficiency, without ruining faction uniqueness.

Regarding Sabre... I agree with Hasteric on this matter. .86 Sabre had some of it's original unique stats and was about average in terms of PvP perfomance.

To sum it up, I think that equalizing everything, be it trade routes, ID allowances, gun or ship stats has a bad effect in the long run.

P.S. Heh... Do you remember Hogosha 4.0 plasma guns? BHG buckshots, the fastest 4.0s in game? Outcast Kraken-Wyrm combos? Mercearies with 2.0 codes? Slow but efficient corsair setups with best pulse guns? IMG Vampires, with low damage but high efficiency? Xeno particle guns that drained core in a few seconds, but popular nonetheless? And many, many more...

I agree on that. House weaponry and ships should be way better than widely used Freelance one.

About the BHG... It's true. Freelancers shouldn't be allowed to hunt down criminals, but BHG and Authorities only. BHG isn't one big faction, but rather federation of free shooters... that was my feeling after vanilia game though. They aren't just a military corporation with their own sovereign space - that's role of The Core, IMO.

There's really nothing fun about losing a fight because your opponent is flying an objectively better ship, though. No matter how much sense it makes in roleplay.

I'm not for making Freelancers' gear bad.
I'm just saying that there's something wrong when Flashpoint Sabres fight Flashpoint Sabres all over.
Cool

Back in the days, freelancers used different CODES, faction gears had significant differences from each other and weren't obviously worse than civilian gear.

P.S. Sometimes I dream that Igiss finally abandons his futile attempts to fix Russia and fixes the MOD instead.
